We arrived early and were allowed to check in early! That is always a bonus. When we saw our room, the view was limited (roof of garage). We went down stairs and asked if it was possible to change rooms to one with a more appealling view. Our request was met with open arms and was taken care of immediately! The new room was not ready so, we were asked to check our bags with the concierge. All went well.
The only complaint is the extra charge for WIFI and resort fees. Just build it in to the room price. There is no reason for an extra fee for WIFI 99% of the people use it, build it in! The resort fee, if it is mandatory, why is it not part of the room charge? IT is misleading to promote a room at $XX to make it look reasonable and then add on extra fees. You just fustrate travelers doing this! On principal I look hotels with all charges included in the room rate. And will pay more for them because I HATE ADD ONS!
"close enough to town to walk safely ,though you ma"
We have been here many times over the years and it is a great place to stay-close to shopping but has everything there if you want to relax. The restaurant has no equal in the Bahamas, and the staff many of whom have been there 25-45 years treat you like family.Just a great hotel.
We chose this hotel based on location, cost. We will be returning because of the amazing ladies at the front desk. The room was dated as other reviewers have mentioned. However, it was cleaned everyday and we found the bedding and linens to be in good condition and tear/stain free. The room was huge. A sitting area had 2 chairs and a table, with plenty of room for luggage. The TV was a nice flat screen with lots of channels and WiFi box was in the room. The signal was excellent. We also had a phone. We opted not to ask for a fridge, but ice was available when needed. There was no safe, we felt comfortable not having one. Based on the room description, we thought we had a balcony. We did not, but it wasn't an issue as the room walked right down to the pool. The pool was a decent size, with lots of seating. Diane at the front desk booked a scuba trip for us. It was amazing. One phone call, and it was done. They showed up on time and we paid at the dive centre. No question or request was too much trouble and whoever was working stopped everything to help us. The hotel was nice and quiet, except for a few hours at night. We heard club music pretty loud, but it only lasted a few hours at most. Didn't ruin our sleep, and had nothing to do with the hotel. The air conditioning was great! We had to turn it off a few times, it was too cold. It did keep the music noise out though. Beach was right across street. 5mins walk to downtown. We will be back!
We only spend $180(including fees and breakfast) per night for a double bed room very quiet since it's not facing the construction side(important!)
Deal include free access to water park. local bar Nara, aquarium and it's not that far to walk to all the places.
Staffs are very friendly. Walking distance to a village where food and liquor can be purchased.
We absolutely will go back again.
I love this hotel - great location, close to all the tourist action, but far enough away to give you great privacy. Separate bedroom and full kitchen are a nice plus. The grounds are beautifully kept and full of local vegetation (bromeliads, orchids, local flowers and shrubs). I've stayed here once or twice a year for the past three years and plan to go back.
It had everything we wanted. Two great pools, a beautiful beach with a private access, a wonderful outdoor bar/restaurant. Best part -- not a lot of people, like the big hotels (RIU, Atlantis). Rooms were ok. Big and roomy. Bathrooms could use a little updating but were clean and functional. We had a one bedroom, with a queen hideabed and a bath and a half. Every unit had a lanai and the grounds were well maintained. We liked this place a lot.
My wife and I stayed here for four nights in July 2009. It was really nice, standard little hotel which was great for our limited budget. The place is really quite, (we didn't see anyone else there even though they had about 15 other guests). We had the pool to ourselves every night.
