Small in size but big in character, this is the most authentically Sardinian of the four provincial capitals. The historical centre was once surrounded by medieval walls of which the Torre di Mariano II remains. Oristano’s cathedral is the largest in Sardinia, its onion-domed bell tower dominating the skyline. To the west, the silvery lagoons of the Sinis Peninsula are home to pink flamingos and beautiful sandy beaches.
