Pleasantly surprised
I didn't realise that I booked to stay in a pub but to my surprise, the room was spotlessly clean and very well decorated. Amenities were great and so were the large variety of towels. Bathrooms were shared but they were very clean and regularly maintained. staff were amazing and it always helps when the check in lad is an eye candy and serves you with a big smile. No issue with noise at night - I think they close the bar at 2200 anyway. I would definitely stay there again not just because of the low price but for everything else.

Well, the room is fine. It had a bed, aircon and surprisingly, a fridge, but in fact not much else. No wardrobe, and of course no en-suite facilities. The bathroom was down the carpeted corridor, possibly shared by half a dozen more rooms.

Clean room, recently renovated, check in was easy and service was friendly. Excellent for the price. I didn’t realise it was shared bathrooms when I booked, but they were very clean so that’s okay.

Close proximity to Events centre, 5 minutes from Rail Station. Entertainment and hotel facilities are great. Restaurant, food and Bar all really good. Other handy shops and other food shops in same street. Eftpos available across the street. I will go back there again for next Newcastle conference.

Pleasant stay The staff were nice the hotel and rooms were well maintained and had a good atmosphere. The bed was very clean comfortable The only criticism is that the lights didn’t work in the showers

Don’t be fooled by the photo What you see is what you get. Which consists of a room with a bed. No bathroom so I hope you like sharing with other strangers. Also the guy downstairs within the microphone doing the trivia doesn’t shut up until 10pm. Also no parking anywhere. Good luck.

Staff were very nice. The wotif advert said a lift and it doesnt. stairs to first level. rooms are just a bed. no sink, no tv, no chairs. internet was free and was great on 1st level. shared bathroom. mens had two toilets. two showers. the pressure was good but was very hard to get a good temp. this is a pub so sometimes some noice but i didnt find it too bad. airconditioning was fans. so hottest days of summer could be a problem. overall was good. public transport just outside door. food shops within a block.
