“Great location, right on top of metro station "Mendeleevskaya"”

We had an excellent stay at the Novotel, Moscow Centre. We found it to be reasonably priced; the front desk staff was excellent, courteous and spoke superb English. We did skip the buffet breakfast and went for more traditional Russian fare at "Moo Moo" across the street and a few blocks down to the left (look for the Holstein cow pattern on the sign, which in Russian reads "MY MY"). We plan to stay at this hotel on our next visit to Moscow!

Area recommendations

Visit the Arbat shopping district---right off the metro station "Arbatskaya." The new Arbat, to the left, has tons of souvenir-type choices and great al fresco cafes; the old Arbat has more traditional shopping options.

“Lifetime Journey”

We stopped here overnight on our way to Vladivostok Russia. Very nice hotel. Free internet a plus as I am in school and need access to the web.

“Excellent location just by a metro station. Lacks wi-fi!”

Great location right by the metro station, much appreciated during the winter. Just One stop away from Bielorussia railway station where you can take the express train to the airport. Shops and restaurants around the corner. Does not have wifi! but they have a computer in the lobby. Would stay there again.

“convenient location and quiet room”

very convenient location, the metro just around the building. although it is right on a busy street, but the front of the building is a bank, and the hotel tower is behind the bank (in the same building), so the room is quiet. The bathroom is a little bit small (the same in some other Novetel hotels.)

“Worse than I expected”

I was not satisfied with my room. It was too warm and it was no way to get it cooler. The same complaint had my colleagues who stayed at the same hotel. The room did not have any clock that is extremely inconvenient, especially for a person with jet lag. My room faced a backyard and was very noisy at 5 am during the garbage pickup. The shower did not work and it took two days to fix it.

“Novotel Tverskaya Moscow Oct 2010”

Room was clean and quiet. The gym and restaurant were very hard to find, as they weren't noted in the elevator or in the materials in the room. Even the front desk person didn't know where the gym was. I finally found it on the 17th floor. There was a hotel employee sitting the gym who watched me the whole time, which I thought was a litle strange. At check out at 04:00 am, the hotel computers were down for some reason and I couldn't correct my bill. Location is very good, right on a metro stop near Tverskaya.

“Good Location Hotel”

The hotel is really well located with a metro station at the corner of the hotel and there are lots of restaurants in the neigbourhood.

Getting there

Though there is a metro station just in the corner of the hotel, it is extremelly important to have a map of the stations both in english AND russian because nothing is written in english at the stations. So you have to compare both languages yourself. It is not easy to ride by metro if you do not speak russian.
