    “St Sulpice”

Plus points : Very nice hotel, excellent location, nice and large rooms , including free Nespresso coffeemaker and water bottles, late breakfast on weekends up to 3 pm Negative points : Restaurant was closed during our stay over. Waiting stuff in bar and breakfast area was not service oriented. We had to wait regularly for 15 min or moe before being asked to be serviced.

    “Great experience”

Great location, very large and comfortable room, and helpful staff. And in the middle of the old port area so good for tourist sites, restaurants, etc. - charming. Would be even more pleasant in the summer when the garden terrace restaurant is open.

    “Will stay again.”

Just a quick note to say that the Saint Sulpice is a wonderful place to stay while in Montreal. There may be minor things such as a tear in the leather couch, but if that is what ruins your stay here you have bigger issues. Great location in Vieux Montreal. I will go back and I recommend this hotel.

    “Looking forward to going back”

Very friendly staff, efficient staff. The hotel is in an excellent location in Old Montreal. We did not go to the bar or restaurant, so cannot comment on that. The one bedroom suite was roomy enough for three adults including a cot. We were attending a conference at the Palace de Congres (Montreal's Conference Center) which was an easy 5 minute walk. The complimentary bottled water given during turndown service was a nice touch, and very appreciated. Just one example of the extra touches you get at this hotel that you miss at the larger chain hotels of equivalent price range. Highly recommend Le Saint Sulpice Hotel, and I plan to go there again next year with my young children.

    “Going back soon”

We stayed here for a wedding reception. Fantastic location in close proximity to shops and restaurants! The room was clean and comfortable. Slept better here than at home. Was able to hear people on the street but for us that led to the ambiance of the vacation. Service, both in the gorgeous courtyard and the wedding reception was very slow so patience is required. Can't wait to bring our family back again.

    Area recommendations
Only there for the weekend so didn't have time to explore the underground city or the new section but Loved the old section exploring the cathedrals and shops!

“Love it, Love it, Love it!!”

In early September, we went to Montreal for our anniversary. Prior to our trip, I thoroughly checked out every 4-star hotel in Old Montreal. I called Le Saint Sulpice one day with a question and while I was on the phone, asked the young lady why I should stay at her hotel. She told me all kinds of different reasons but finally said "We're just friendlier!" And they were ... from the bell hops to the General Manager, they all went out of their way to make our stay more enjoyable. While I was there in Old Montreal, I checked out all the other 4-star hotels ... just curious. I believe that I made the best hotel choice. I loved the hotel ... I don't believe that you can go wrong. Being from the states, we may be more impatient about dishes in the halls and rooms not being made up immediately after we leave them ... but it all got done and wasn't intrusive. If you're looking for a great little hotel ... Le Saint Sulpice is it! It's an all-suite hotel so you're not stuck in a tiny little bedroom. If I had to find something to complain about ... it would be that the light in the bathroom was a little dim for applying makeup. But there was a magnifying mirror so it all worked out. Love it, love it, love it. I'd go back in a flash! Thanks to every employee who made our stay so enjoyable.

    Area recommendations
Old Montreal is where we wanted to stay because we love history. It was every bit as enjoyable as anticipated ... I couldn't walk long distances because of foot surgery but we did walk rather long distances. We'd just walk for a while, then stop for a while, then walk again. We took taxis to restaurants and taxis back to the hotel. Rue Notre Dame is under construction (AGAIN! ... the General Manager at Le Saint Sulpice told us they rip up the street every 2 years!) so we got dropped off at Notre Dame and had to walk that half block to the hotel.
    Must see
At the end of the street with Le Saint Sulpice is Notre Dame Basilica ... we went to Mass on Sunday. It was in French, of course, and we only understood the priest welcoming visitors in English. Do it if you are there on a Sunday.
    Shopping
There was a Christmas shop on the same street with Le Saint Sulpice ... Noel. I collect Christmas ornaments ... in particular, carousel horse ornaments ... and I thoroughly enjoyed the shop. No carousel horse ornaments so I didn't buy anything but still enjoyed the shop.
    Dining
Europea is where we went for our anniversary dinner. We had the tasting menu and wine pairings. It was very expensive but we enjoyed it. We aren't used to such long dinners or such rich food, but we don't do it all the time! We also went to La Latino ... an Italian restaurant with great food. Le Saint Sulpice has a restaurant so we had breakfast at our hotel every morning. We never had lunch or dinner there but that's because it just worked out that way. Another restaurant we went to was Gibby's ... a steakhouse. I wouldn't say go there but it certainly seemed as though the locals enjoyed it.
