“A Moderate Hotel”

The hotel is a bit off from the main road and is not easy to find without a GPS. Entrance to the hotel is also a little tricky, a sharp quick left turn. If you missed it, you could end up in the bush. The staff was friendly, but not good at giving direction. Housekeeping is somewhat lacking, we have had asked for towels for our entire stay. On-site restaurant is good, but lacks variety. Advanced booking of meals with the hotel entitles you discounts and free wine for dinner. The hotel could use a face-lift and furnishings upgrade. Limited internet access. No chest or drawer to stow clothings. Carpet needs cleaning badly. Bathroom is not disabled friendly despite hotel advertisement. Did not use the hotel's free airport shuttle service. This hotel offers free parking, which is a big plus. Car Park in Australia is a high price commodity. Overall impression is the hotel does not worth the price paid.

“Rooms Need a lot of work”

We picked this hotel because it had family rooms (1 Queen 2 single beds) and proximity to the airport. Rooms were really big, but very, very, old. Beds we saggy in the middle and the TV was out of the 80's. However, the worst part was the water. When you take a shower and get the temp just right, after a few minutes it suddenly shoots to insanely hot (I'm talking it will burn you hot). So you tweak the knobs and get it back to reasonable, and then it will shoot to freezing cold or to boiling hot again. It was nearly impossible, especially with kids and trying to get them clean. This was a serious safey issue, and we reported it. I just hope they do something about it before someone gets hurt. There were a few places to eat in walking distance which is nice, and it's only about 5-10 mins from the airport with a courtesy shuttle (although we were returning a rental so didn't use it). The only downside on the location aspect is the main road is busy near a large roundabout, and we had a lot of noise of squealing tires as the teens were sliding around the roundabout at night. We were not at the very front of the hotel, but the windows did not insulate much of the sound. We didn't try the inhouse restuarant for dinner, but the breakfast buffet was OK, just expensive (A$60 for the 4 of us). There was information about them going through some major renovations in the near future, but I don't know if they can address the plumbing issues as part of that.

“its cheap, not cheerful!”

I called the hotel from the airport and was picked up in 10 mins - they described the mini bus that would be picking me up and where to go for the pick up point - excellent service for a solo traveller. However this hotel is really tired and desparately needs an overhaul. The room was a throwback to the 70s.... tacky artifiicial brick work and a jacuzzi in the main room?!?!?!?! As another reviewer has said, the room was cold. It majors on being an airport hotel. I was leaving at 6am but was unable to get a breakfast in the restaurant...all that was offered was a prepacked ceral breakfast with long life milk - not appetising! I'd advise an airport breakfast. Transportation to and from the airport wasexcellent. It is a 10 min journey and the driver was really cheerful. The cleaner deserves a bonus as the room was spotless and that's coming from someone who has cleaned hotel rooms. If you are on a budget, its OK, wish I had spent the extra and stayed the HIlton, it is literally across the road from the airport.

“Not as convenient as it thinks it is”

The size of the room was pretty good but we were really chilly all night as there was a huge gap under the front door making the heating completely ineffective. We surprised them by asking to rent a car. The receptionist expected me to walk at least a mile down the highway to a Eurocar place to enquire as they couldn't get any info on the phone. We didn't bother but noticed it was closed on Saturday afternoon anyway. Airport drop off was ok.
