“Excellent choice!”

The location of Oaks on Market was perfect for our stay. We were able to walk to most destinations saving time having to wait on transportation. The room was clean and well maintained and the staff friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay there again.

Area recommendations
City location is the best when staying for a short time. From there one can easily travel to place of choice by either train, tram or taxi.
Other
We specifically went to see family and friends but thoroughly enjoyed the Tutankhamun demonstration at the Museum. Money well spent. Melbourne is the city for shopping and good food.

“Will stay again”

Excellent service on arrival. Location was very convenient. Gym and pool facilities great. Only complaint would be that aircon was a little noisy. Would recommend that you request a room with a view of the Yarra River, preferrably on a higher floor away from street noise. Just a short walk over the river to Southbank dining and sunday markets. Will definitely be staying here again when I return.

“Very Good”

Oaks On Market, a good hotel/apartment building, central location, not far from the busiest streets in town. Nice fitness area comprehensive of a pool, a spa and a big sauna. Nice personal and well clean environment. If you are looking for a fancy sparkling hotel, maybe this is not the best option for you, but the price is a good worth compared to the services offered.

“Excellent hotel”

Spacious rooms with kitchenette, close to everything, great food, nice people but the room was not vacuumed every day. Other than that a terrific stay.

“excellent”

Oaks on Market is in an ideal position with trams so close, 3 blocks to shopping in all directions, casino on southbank within a 10 minute walk and all the lovely streets and laneways for eating and drinking. I would highly recommend Oaks on Market and this is the 2nd time we have stayed there and will be staying over and over again each time we visit Melbourne. The breakfast is great.

Area recommendations
Bridge Road, DFO South Wharf and Spencer St, Harbour town Waterfront Docklands and St Kilda for clothes and shoe shopping. St Kilda has waterfront markets and a real buzz on Sundays.

“It was okay”

The Oaks on market is an okay budget hotel. The rooms are big but don't expect anything fancy.

“Disappointed.”

Stayed 5 nights - wished I had not prepaid. The hallway carpets had that smell of age and dampness. Every time the door of nearby rooms open or close I could hear them and my door lock rattles just like someone was trying to open the door. The bathroom was not clean. The bathtub/shower was the first I inspected and I was disappointed. I could see hair from the previous occupant. The grout on the tiles around and below the shower was yellowed - which was a stark contrast to the white grout on the upper tiles or those away from the shower. Not recommended. I have stayed at much cleaner hotels at a lower price range.

“Good but could be better.”

Hotel was nice, however not what I would usually expect for 4star. There was no grate in the basin in the bathroom to which my husband's wedding ring fell into and there was a stench of sewer coming through the room. With breakfast you only got 1 coffee, after that you had to pay $3.50 for each coffee afterwards.
