“Not the standard that you expect from Novotel”

It is an old building that has been remodelled, but not worth the tarrif demanded, particularly as parking and internet access was not included. The room was small as was the bathroom. Some noise from plumbing in other rooms was a little annoying, as was the lack of opening windows. On the plus side the bed was comfortable.

“Not up to Novotel standed this time”

As we were there for 2 nights I was very disappointed the room was not serviced during the day. The excuse was that it is a busy time of year. If this is to be normal practice there needs to be more supplies of towels, tea bags and consumables in the room

“Not a great experience”

Okay the weather was miserable and that probably didn't help - but neither did the fact that the hotel had no umbrellas and the staff couldn't give a toss. Overall, it just managed to be adequate, and would not be a place to return to.

Traveller's tip
St Kilda is fun but you don't need to stay there to be able to enjoy it - stay somewhere more central and commute - taxis are plentiful (though NOT cheap) but public transport is good.
