“Well located good value”

Efficient friendly staff, convenient 24 hour mid price restaurant, only slight negative is that physical property is worn....otherwise I highly recommend this as a great value.

“Going Back In July”

Everything about my stay was superb . . only 2 complaints . . A/C unit was at bed level thus blowing directly onto the bed . . shower bottom very slippery . . they need to install non-slip strips in the tub . . very long step-down when getting out of shower . . almost 2 feet . . slippery tub & long step-down . . not good . . breakfast menue was ok . . some days good some days average . . will be staying there again in July . . the staff was extremely efficient & courteous . . the king bed was ultra comfortable . . excellent value for the money !

“Not a Repeat Customer”

No one was at the hotel lobby, we had to wait; the check in process was very slow, felt very unwelcome. No hot water, had to call to fix. Room was very small, Wi-Fi in room very expensive. Buffet breakfast was ok. It is scary to go outside at nightime, too dark.

I would go to Intercontinental next time. I know people who stayed there and were happy with their stay

“A SMALL HOTEL WITH A PASSION FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE”

“Can't wait to go back”

When to go

Since the weather is so hot & humid all year round dont go during August/Sept because usually it rains hard all the time plus the chances of typoon passing by will soak u good. December/January is good, because the weather is cooler. Shopping is great and food is great. Enjoy.

Getting around

Staying @ Somerset is great because we just walk around. Practically everything is nearby. We did our grocery at Rustan, and then other kind of gift shopping @ Rustan, SM and neighboring stores. Changing dollars to Php was easy. All the banks are lined up across the very pretty & large park (don't know the name) across the street from Somerset.

“Much Better Choices”

1. Pool is very small, dirty and has minimal lighting. scary for kids at night; 2. Difficult to get a tax from the hotel; 3. The razors they have is like shaving with a stone; 4. Rooms are decent, but contain no decent views; 5. Business center contains a broken printer and one very old computer. Never fixed computer during my stay; 6. Buiding is not well-maintained. broken lights, dirty and dimly lit; 7. Guards are very nice and helpful; 8. Restaurant food is good. Better choices around town.

“Great stay”

Stayed in the hotel for a week. Best location in Makati,super clean,helpful service and all at great price. Would be great if they could put bigger tv and maybe wi-fi but thats not that important. Great breakfast with 2 restaurant choices too. All in all thats where I will be staying in Makati from now on.

“Would not recommend this hotel”

Although the location of the hotel is great, the overall standard of this property is only average, a lot of the rooms are very dark and on the inside of the building. I asked to be moved on check in. The air conditioning is poor quality and quite noisy. The breakfast offered is very simple and the restaurant is very uncomfortable although the staff are very helpful. Accessibility to the hotel foyer/lobby is also difficult. The rooms are somewhat getting old and are very simple. There are better hotels in the Makati area for the same price and of a better standard.

“Impressed to use again”

In choosing this company/apartment for the first time I had assumed, from the map, that it was somewhat located out of Makati. I was most pleasantly surprised to find it right in easy walking distance of the Greenbelt/Glorietta shopping complexes and major 5 star hotels. The property is a little dated and had I known better I would have chosen a room with sitting area. The studio has nowhere to relax except on the bed. I experienced extraordinary pleasantness from security guards both within the building and externally. The front desk folk were most helpful and even extended my check out time without any fuss. The breakfast is basic but satisfying enough to start the day. The only drawback with my room ( I stayed for 6 days) was that it was on the 3rd floor facing the service entry to the Peninsula Hotel in Sta Thomas street, therefore trucks arriving and reversing in from around 6.00am in the morning were sometimes distracting. The air conditioner in my room provided a white noise to compensate some of it. Regardless I would happily use the apartments again, but request a higher and quieter room (that I had asked for in my booking request, but which did not occur)

Area recommendations

Makati City is the most convenient and most modern area to attend to shopping, utilise the top hotels and to do business. Having lived there before I was pleasantly surprised to see the sophisticated and modern development and updating. Pedestrian and road traffic is separated, and elevated walkways with internal shopping malls make getting around very easy. The Makati district is very clean and spacious. The presence of security guards everywhere, both unarmed and armed can be somewhat daunting to the first time traveller. Nevertheless they are all very friendly and reassuring if any doubt exists with your own safety. Travel to downtown Ermita, Malate and waterfront areas is easily accomplished (except in peak traffic times) and the cabs are very inexpensive (but ensure you get a metered taxi and the meter is turned on).

When to go

December through February is the best time of the year. From March it gets quite hot and then gradually into the wet season mid year through Oct /Nov.
