Karuizawa Hotel Longing House

"I would have to say I have mixed feelings about my stay. I'll start with the positives. The private baths that you can reserve were wonderful and easy to book. The staff were all very nice , especially the restaurant staff. The hotel is charming...but in places looking a bit dated. My room was very spacious and functional...however I did have one issue withe the small refrigerator in the room. Every 2 hour or so it would make a loud grinding sound which woke me up several times... I eventually needed to unplug it ... I even recorded the sound so I could relay my concerns to the front desk when I checked out."

"We have stayed at à few Hoshinoya hotels in Japan & Taiwan but this is the worst one so far. The room is dark, outdated and to get from bed to bath with many steps makes it difficult at night when the lights are so dim. Only tap water is complimented in the room . The meditation onsen is so dark inside all you see is dark wall no day light the vibe makes me feel scary not relaxing. No compliments of milk or ice cream after bath only juices cans sharing outside of the bath house for both genders. We don’t feel welcome from some of the staffs here like others Hoshinoya hotels we have stayed. No greeting, no smiling . It’s not worth the money we have spent to staying here . We stayed 2 nights @ river front room."

"私たちの宿泊した部屋は、風呂・トイレ別で、風呂場は浴槽と洗い場が別になっていてよかったです。ホテル内にはランドリー施設もあったので助かりました。川越駅からすぐで交通の便もよく、近くには多くの商業施設があって快適に過ごせました。"

"This resort went way above and beyond our expectations. The staff was very friendly and helpful, making us feel very comfortable when explaining how things worked. The buffet, lounge, and free drinks and snacks were wonderful. And the facilities are very clean and very well maintained. The different onsens all have different characteristics and they're all very charming and relaxing 😊 Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a luxurious relaxing stay!"
