“Good for the price.”
The bathroom was very small and the grouting around the tub was very moldy.
“Very old Hotel”
Too expensive for what it is. Horrible food, very tacky. Don't go there.
“Good hotel when passing through Madrid”
We were very pleased with the room we were put in on our return trip through Spain. Very comfortable room, comfortable bed and excellently furnished bathroom. Thank you.
“Melia Barajs is clean, convenient and reasonably priced”
We stayed one night at the beginning of our trip to Northern Spain and one night on the way home. It is a location very close to the Barajas airport, and they have a very efficient shuttle service. The hotel is a bit dated and not all that attractive, but it is clean and servicable, and a wonderful choice when you want a hotel to crash in at the start and/or finish of your flight into or out of the Madrid Barajas airport. Very comfortable and reasonably priced.
“Great location”
Have stayed here a number of times before. This was not our best experience with this hotel. Front desk very unhelpful and not at all welcoming upon arrival. Wouldn't hurt to smile! Bathroom on previous stays was beautiful - this time it was very small and somewhat inconveniently laid out. Great location - just wish front desk had been even the slightest bit interested in assisting us with directions to nearest gas station on way to airport. The bar is nice and friendly and the breakfast was great!
“Ryan”
We stayed here the night before our flight home to the U.S. It was surely a grand hotel in the 70's. Still very clean and great staff. Shuttle to the airport. Retaurant is slightly expensive but good.
“Not impressed”
I have icn beter hotels and less expensive
“The good and the bad”
They gave us an upgrade to a junior suite, perhaps due to early booking through Expedia. Room cleanliness and appointments were very good. However, there was no free Wi-Fi as advertized in Expedia, not even in the hotel lobby. Purchase was available but at a rip-off price. I am tired of supposed "high quality" hotels that don't provide free Wi-Fi. Also, bus shuttle service to the airport was very inadequate in the morning. A small shuttle bus arrived almost full from another hotel and there wasn't room for us. We had to take a taxi to the airport to catch our flight.
“Better than we had hoped”
We booked this hotel as a place to stay our final night in Spain before flying back out of Madrid the next morning. To our surprise, this was by far the nicest European hotel we've found to date. Not only were we delighted with the fact that the location was a 5-minute shuttle ride to the airport, but the room was plush, the restaurant high quality and the breakfast buffet top notch. Our only disappointment was that we were only staying one night.
“Met all our needs.”
Great location, free shuttle service to and from airport was efficient. Easy walk 10 minutes to Metro station (Barjas) in safe neighborhood. Free internet. Room was very clean and large. Mattress was FIRM and pillows long and THIN (needed two) which they provided. Restaurant prices were high but found a convience store nearby that was reasonable. Would recommend to my friends and family. Obtained a great price for a three night stay thru Expedia.
