“Good hotel”

“very nice hotel”

Our stay at hotel was very satisfying, but we are extreme travelers and use hotels only for sleep, so we left it early at morning and came back late at night. All at all service was very good.

“Great location, great service - great Madrid option”

We stayed for 6 nights, including New Years Eve. Hotel is easy to get to from the airport, only one change from Metro to Renfe at Neuvos Ministerios (instructions clearly written on Hotel's website). As everyone says, the Renfe/Metro is right on the doorstep so there is no need to drag luggage very far. Reception staff and all staff in general were extremely pleasant, professional and helpful. Room was a decent size with cupboard space, nice modern bathroom, mini bar etc. Towels were a little rough but it wasn't a problem. Bedding is an odd configuration - a King Size bed made up of two King Singles but beds are made up separately even though they are pushed together. Firm but surprisingly comfy. Room could get hot so we turned the heating off and used the windows to regulate the temperature - no problems. The double glazing is amazingly effective, cutting out virtually all street noise. Our room had a great view over the 'Piramides' moument and the suburbs beyond. You can't beat the location and you can walk straight along Paseo de las Acacias (the hotel is on this street) to Reina Sofia Gallery and/or Atocha. It's a couple of kilometres. There is a handy supermarket less that two blocks from the hotel (also on Paseo de las Acacias) as well as several places to eat. We caught the high speed train from Madrid to Barcelona so getting to Atocha meant simply checking out, walking down to the Metro/Renfe and catching the train only 3 stops.

Getting around

f you are visiting for more than a couple of days, a Turistic Abono (Tourist Ticket - combinations up to 7 days) from any Metro or Renfe station is incredibly good value and can be used on all Metro, Renfe and Buses. You can but it at the airport Metro station from the machine and includes your ride from the airport.

“Nice Hotel”

I had a great experience at this hotel. I bought the lonely planet book for Madrid and was able to use the map fairly easily. LOVED that the metro station was right next to the hotel since it made it easier to get around without having to pay for taxis. A lot of the places were walking distance, for me, but not for my mother who is not as active. The receptionist at the front desk were always more than helpful. The rooms were plain, but my family and I really only used them to sleep and rest before heading out to the town so it served its purpose. The rooms were clean..overall i had a nice experience at this hotel.

Area recommendations

Loved Parque del Buen Retiro..it's free and a very nice place to relax after a day of sightseeing..

Traveller's tip

There is a REALLY good Chinese restaurant around the corner called Yi..service and food were GREAT! Do NOT go to the restaurant across the street..i almost threw up.
