“Our first hotel while traveling Spain and it was great!!”
We stayed here our first night in Madrid and I must say it was a great way to start our 2 week trip. The service at the front desk was amazing...by far the best we experienced in Spain. The accommodated our requests. Room was spacious, clean, and the hotel is located in a great area with walking distance to all main attractions and metros. Hotel has a great rooftop bar. Check it out and enjoy the views! We would most definitely return to this hotel. Hotel is walking distance to Chueca, the gay neighborhood. Hotel was super gay friendly.
“Run down and not enough stock in bathroom for a 4 star hotel”
The only positive things of Ada Palace is its central location near the cathedral. The hotel is run down. The air condition in my room made much noise and it wasn't cool enough even in spring time. They didn't shampoo and conditioner. The service was rather ok, not friendly.
“Excellent location”
Great hotel, didnt' get a balcony room as described however I was v happy not to because it was pretty much silent during the night, which after 33 hours of travel was much appreciated. This hotel is in one of the best positions for exploring the city, I would stay again if I were going to Madrid. Rooms were small but overall exceptional value for money.
“Could be Heaven, Managed Like Hell”
As discussed above, the mendacity and persistent lack of interest in guest comfort during a partial breakdown in the A/C is reason enough to stay away. It's too bad, because the property has many excellent features in addition to location. The rooms are very tastefully done, the furniture is comfortable, the rooftop terrace and bar are elegant and delightful - - I didn't eat in the restaurant, which is garishly lit - - and the place is quiet (I did not hear hall noise) and clean. The lobby is very small and uncomfortable, however, and there is little attention paid to guest amenities: there is a single computer in the lobby for guests, for which you have to pay, for example, and when I asked for an electric current adapter, as I had left mine in NY, I was told that there were none but I could buy one at El Corte Ingles, a department store about a 15 minute walk away. This is four star service? Oh yes, and the shower leaked (there are no tubs).
“Ada, a real palace!”
Our stay at the Ada Palace was quite enjoyable! We were able to check in early, and our room was clean and comfortable; it had the most elaborate shower that I have ever seen! The view out of our widow was bad (construction) so we spent more time on the rooftop lounge which was awesome! The staff was helpful and courteous. The location is great.
