Andrea was brilliant with us. She met us upon arriving for check in, if you want somewhere where you don’t feel like the owners are breathing down your neck this is defiantly the place to be. Andrea isn’t based on site however she is literally a phone call away. We were left coffee, cereal bars and towels every morning. The lodge was built in the 18th century so isn’t modernised but we LOVED this aspect of the lodge. The shower in room 1 is AMAZING. Andrea upgraded our room to a king size room upon finding out we were on our honeymoon. The waterfront is literally a 5 minute walk away with so much to do! The museum is brilliant as well. We would definitely return in a heart beat! We honestly didn’t know what to expect, but this was literally a home away from home!
We stayed in the king suite on the first floor and would definitely recommend. I’m not sure if the other rooms have private bathrooms, so this was a major plus for our room. The bed isn’t amazingly comfortable. You can seem the knot pub from your bedroom window (accross the street) and the walk to the downtown area is only about 5 minutes through a nice pathway with historical monuments.
We really loved the building first and foremost, but upon meeting the host, Andrea, we loved her too. She is so lovely and helpful, very knowledgeable and gave us great advice and suggestions. (And a beautiful cozy wool blanket on a cold night!)

The exterior is lovely, leading us to thinking the experience would be better than it was.
We received a full suite with kitchen, bedroom, living room and bathroom. really a one bedroom apartment. In keeping with the era of the building the suite was quaint high ceilings and large crown molding. Bed was comfortable. Only complaint was with the smoke detector, toaster was on 30 seconds and it went off and wouldn't stop even though we couldn't see and smoke. So perhaps a fan would help.

Interesting historical building. Could use a little update on the inside.
Check in was easy, staff was very friendly and accommodating. Room was cozy and clean, property is in a great location. However, the beds weren’t too comfortable, drainage in shower wasn’t good (maybe that comes with staying in a heritage home!) and the WiFi did not work on the 3rd floor.
Second floor attractive room with comfortable beds and 10 ft. ceilings in this lovely Victorian house. The new modern bathroom was large and well appointed.
The lodge and its location were excellent. We stayed one day only though I wish it was longer so I could admire the building and its decor more. The only issue I had was that the manager contacted me twice on the day of our arrival to confirm the time of our check in. I had some concerns of what we were dealing with, but all was fine once we arrived.
