"Weekend at Jackson Gore. The entrance is confusing"
I was disappointed, no refrigerator in the room, the pool was dirty, very clouding and no skimmed. There were missing tiles on the walls, and there was a hole and crack by the latter with the steps very dangerous. Room was a little small with only 1 mirror over a desk table. very little room to walk around. All in all it was just okay.
The amenities, facilities and staff where all excellent. Ski-in/ski-out is a great convenience. These facilities are located right by the base lodge but for restaurants, gym, and more people, stay on the other side of the mountain at the Jackson hotel. It also has ski in and ski out.
This motel is older vintage. While it does contain mini-kitchenette & refrigerator, all its furniture, stoves, refrigerator is older..a littlemore rickety if you will. Having said that, we were treated as VIP guests ... plenty of hot water, clean sheets, cable television. You can hear traffic pass by but only slightly. Management was terrific.. very cordial and coopertive... this is not a modern hotel but along with its old fashioned amenities it offered old fashioned high calibre quality people service on top of a decent lodging rate.

We stayed in the farmhouse, second floor with windows facing the lawn and field. It was quiet, peaceful and the owners were very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast we had there was better than the one we had at a downtown restaurant. Definitely a good choice.

The staff made us very welcome, carrying my heavy suitcase to my room up a short but quite steep stairway. Arrived late but readily got great gin and tonic followed by tasty well cooked evening meal. Breakfast was included and had good choices and full plates. Very friendly helpful staff and got good background info and suggested activities from the charming Zimbabwean owner.
