"Friendly staff! Except for the front desk lol"
Everyone was so friendly, especially for the bellhoppers, valet service, and housekeepers! The dude in the front desk when we checked in needs to smile though haha. But the bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and the location was awesome!! Would stay here again!

"Don't let the Look fool you!"
Apon arriving, we didn't think much of the hotel until we went inside. It was very nice, clean, and beautiful. The area, though not perfect, the hotel was a pleasant surprise. It is located about 10 minutes from the Griffiths Observatory, between two subway stations and major freeway. Local streets lead to awesome sightseeing and tourist areas. The staff were always friendly.

"100 years old and still looking great"
We went on vacation. I was looking for a hotel with an indoor pool. This hotel has a lot of character. Yes it's old but very well preserved and cared for. This hotel does NOT smell old. It looked awesome. You will marvel at the ceilings, walls and doors. I went back in time where the movie stars went to the Oscars. Loved it. Location was excellent, close to beaches and close to touristy activities

"A Hidden Gem...."
My husband and I were traveling on business and booked only one night at the Hotel Wilshire because it was close to our client. After a very hard day we checked in and were planning on going out for a quick bite.....the room was beautiful, clean and had an amazing view of Beverly Hills. Then we went up to the rooftop bar and pool for a quick look.... Let's just say we never left. We were offered a private cabana next the pool which overlooked all of Hollywood. It was happy hour from 3:00pm - 7:00pm with 1/2 price cocktails and a wonderful cheese board for only $18.00. They also had a free wine reception from 5:00 to 6:00 where we were able to get wine and take back to the roof. We felt like celebrities and hotel staff treated us just the same. It was absolutely the most wonderful and surprising way to end the day. My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. I honestly did not want to leave. We are definitely planning on coming back for a longer stay next year.

"Great boutique hotel in West Hollywood"
The Chamberlain Hotel is a great boutique hotel, conveniently located in West Hollywood. The deluxe king room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel has a nice rooftop pool with cabanas and decent views of the city and nearby hills. Would definitely stay at this hotel again when visiting LA.

Where to stay in Los Angeles?

Call it Tinseltown. Call it Hollywood. Call it the City of Angels. Call it whatever you want; L.A. is synonymous with one thing the world over – celebrities.

People check in to Los Angeles hotels in their thousands every year, hoping to catch a glimpse of their favourite star, and leave disappointed. But, if you know where to look, both on and off the beaten track, you're sure to rub shoulders with at least one or two famous names. All you need is a little bit of insider know-how.

One of the key elements to a successful celebrity-spotting trip is to find the right accommodation in Los Angeles. Staying in the downtown area is a great way to make your L.A. life as easy as possible. Along the famous Hollywood and Vine you'll find the literally star-studded streets of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Littered with the names, and handprints, of the world's most famous people, this is a Los Angeles must-see. Who knows, you may even be lucky enough to pass by a live ceremony. You never know who you might catch grey-handed!

    Celebrity spotting

Head north at the intersection of Hollywood and Vine to find the Capitol Records Tower. Label of artists as diverse as Katy Perry and Ringo Starr, this iconic building is an L.A. landmark. Or head to the Hollywood Bowl to see one of these artists in the flesh (albeit from a distance). This venue has played host to legends ranging from Bille Holiday and The Beatles, to Fred Astaire.

If you want to get a closer look at the A-listers, you'll have to venture a little further. Chateau Marmont is one of the most famous hotels in Los Angeles, and its bar is a perfect spot for a bit of classy mid-week celeb-spotting. Alternatively, head to Ventura Boulevard in Studio City, or "sushi row" as it's more commonly known. A lot of the recording in this area goes on in Studio City, so plenty of big names can be spotted taking a quick lunch along this street, or popping into the bars in the evening for a drink after a hard day's filming

Following these tips, and keeping your eyes open in even the most innocuous of locations in L.A., will mean you'll finish your trip not only with some great memories, but hopefully with some autographs or excited photos to add to your scrapbook too!
