“Had a wonderful time”
We had a great time. The room was clean comfortable and well decorated. It was a beautiful location. Very friendly and helpful staff.
“nice for leisure trip”
perfect for a vacation trip, not good for business
“Oasis in LA!”
This hotel is great and romantic! Wonderful food, views and they even give the guests bikes to ride on the beach that is just a few blocks away! It was relaxing and very nice, but make sure you get a room on the marina side, you wouldn't want to have a room on the street side!
“Great in-city getaway”
Everything about our stay at the Inn at Playa del Rey was phenomenal, from my very first interaction with the staff via email several weeks before our stay to the ease and speed of check-out when we left. Everyone we encountered on the staff was incredibly polite, friendly, and helpful. The hotel is a gorgeous option for a little getaway whilst staying within the greater Los Angeles area...definitely feels like you've been transported to the East coast! We paid a bit extra to stay in the Romance Suite, which I would highly recommend - the views, double-sided fireplace, and oversize jacuzzi tub were WELL worth it. A+++++++
“Recommend highly - very relaxing”
Wonderful Inn with a very relaxing atmosphere. Everything about our stay was peaceful - from the homemade chocolate chip cookies and breakfast fare to the nature preserve outside our window. I know that we will return.
“very homely”
Lovely hotel and hosts. Close to the beach, great to free parking and beach.
“Charming little 'hotel'”
This place is a gem. Very comfortable, reminiscent of old Inns in New England. The view from my third (top) floor room of the expansive salt water marsh/wetland preserve that adjoins the property was fantastic. If you enjoy birds, bring your binoculars ! If you forgot them, borrow the pair in the library downstairs. The sunset over the marsh, w/ Marina Del Rey beyond and the Santa Monica mountains in the distance is just a delight. I was a single travelling on business, but this little hotel is really perfect for a couple's getaway. If you are tired of paying $20/day for parking, $15/day for internet, and $40/day for breakfast at most hotels, relax. It is all free at the Inn at Playa Del Rey. The Inn is not new, so don't expect the latest in Eurostyle design. But the bed was comfortable and the staff very friendly. Even the gas fireplace in the room was a delight. I highly recommend this place.
“Hidden gem in LA”
A hidden gem in LA. Can't recommend highly enough. Location is lovely and convenient to everything (Marina del Rey, Venice Beach, Santa Monica, etc) although you probaby do need a car unless you just want to stay in the local area (which does have restaurants and nice walks). Awesome home cooked breakfast as well plus genuinely free internet. We were very sorry to leave and DEFINITELY will be back.
“Relaxing”
Very relaxing, confortable and friendly staff. Great breakfast and snacks. My Wife and I rode the beach cruisers and wished we had more time to just relax at the Bed and Breakfast
“Relaxing LA getaway”
If you are looking for a relaxing and/or romantic getaway in the Los Angeles area, The Inn at Playa del Rey would be a great choice. The Inn is tucked away from much of the hustle of the city, yet close enough to Hollywood or popular beaches Venice and Santa Monica (as well as Marina del Rey). The Inn offers free bike rentals, which my wife and I took advantage of, and we rode over to Venice Beach along a designated bike trail. We thought that traveling by bike added to the adventure and was probably our favorite activity of our visit. There is also access to a beach within a couple of blocks - we walked to the beach every morning of our stay to start the day off right. As far as the hotel is concerned, it was probably my favorite bed and breakfast. The meals were great, free wine in the afternoon, relaxing room, great view, nice staff, and a comfy bed. I would say it is ideal for anyone who is looking for an LA experience without always being in the middle of the action. I find that couples are more likely to stay at a bed and breakfast, but it would also be great for a family/friend gathering. Side note - the proximity to LAX made it convenient, and I could not hear any planes from our room.
