“Great Experience”
Our 4th visit to London over the years and this was our best lodging experience. Very friendly staff and we particularly enjoyed the team working at the lobby bar - very friendly, helpful and, of course, the mixed a great cocktail. The hotel has great facilities and is located close to the Tube and within walking distance to much of what London has to offer.
“A pleasant surprise!”
We were in London for a meeting which was going to take place at the Intercontiniental which had a good rate for the meeting nights only. We were coming a few days early and needed to find something less expensive. Not only was the Lanmark half the price, it was much nicer, cleaner and and our room was was much bigger. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!
“Very Impressed”
Stayed here for 5 nights, check in was quick and effecent , staff were very helpful always greet you with a smile, the hotel is a beautiful old building right across from Marylebone station, a short walk to Baker st for restaurants also if you want breakfast go to Gino's Cafe next to the hotel (Marylebone Station side) highly recommend it
“Spoilt by stinginess.”
Make no mistake this is great hotel. 5 Star in every respect. What I don't understand is why a hotel like this can't supply complimentary Wi-Fi and tea making facilities like every other hotel we have stayed in on this trip (12 hotels in Ireland and UK). My wife enquired about the tea making because it had obviously been removed from the room. She was told they would return the facility for 25 pounds stg.
“Very Happy”
Our first time in London visiting our daughter. Picked this hotel because it was right by her office. When checking in they upgraded our room (without charge) which was wonderful. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and very grand. I work in NYC in plenty of hotels and this one was right up there with any 5 star hotel. Look forward to staying there the next time we go back for a visit. Thanks Expedia for helping make our trip a fun and memorable one!
“Watch out for extremely expensive telephone charges”
We had a very good experience staying at this hotel until it came time to check out. We had used the telephone in our room to make two phone calls. Both calls were to numbers in England, so they were not international. One call was about 7 minutes long, and the other was about 8 minutes long. The charge on our bill for the two calls totaled twenty-two (22) pounds (nearly USD $40)! I have stayed at four-star hotels throughout the US and have seen extremely high charges for use of the telephone, but this is by far the most outrageous charge I've ever seen. Do yourself a favor and use the public payphones on the side street outside the hotel if you stay here; the rates are much more reasonable.
“Best hotel I've ever stayed in.”
Extraordinary experience. Lovely hotel, spacious rooms, prompt and friendly service. Beautiful neighborhood across from tube station which has a grocery store and restaurants. Near Regents Park (a must see). A little pricey, but it's London - everything's pricey. Wish we were still there.
“Landmard is a practical luxury hotel”
Despite the excellent service and architectural of the hotel, its location nearby Marylebone rail and underground station what attract me the most. Easy reach of London transportation whether taxis, buses, underground, or rail it's within few steps away. Also, the services of the surrounding neighborhood, from Marks & Spencer grocery store, bagel house, Paul cafe or Burger King fast food.
“Exceptional!”
Excellent hotel, great value, just plain beautiful! Service was prompt and attentive. In fact the service is so carefully planned out by the hotel that I recommend you use the "Do not disturb" button whenever you are in the room or someone will be stopping by to care for your every need. What a problem to have!
“Luxury Hotel in London”
The Landmark is a 5-star luxury hotel. The location is excellent (across from the Marylebone tube and train station) in a generally quiet neighborhood. The service is excellent - what you would expect from a luxury hotel. We made extensive use of the concierge, and the people staffing that desk were very helpful. The principal public area is a very large and spectacular roofed-in central atrium; the dining area is located there. The rooms are comfortable, fairly large, and well designed, but rather non-discript. (Luxury hotels are frequently filled with antiques and artwork; the Landmark is not.) It's an old hotel, but has clearly been refurbished top to bottom within the last decade - e.g. the bathrooms are granite/ marble/glass. Half of the rooms (including ours) face into the atrium, which has the disadvantage of not being able to check the weather. Amenities (e.g. breakfasts, internet) are expensive- we ate nearby or grabbed a pastry ("pasty") at the tube/railway station. I'd definitely stay there again if the price were right.
