“Great central location”
Many sights are within reasonable walking distance and my husband and I walked most days. The room was very nice; smallish if you're used to large American hotel rooms, but comfortable for two. Bathroom had a shower, no tub, but again, comfortable for two. They provide free chilled purified water (with bottles) which is a great convenience. There are two restaurants onsite & bar, but area around the hotel is also full of places to eat at all price levels. Normal check-in is 3pm, but for an additional L40, you can get early check-in. Wall seemed a little thin (could hear people next door occasionally) but not bad enough to really bother us. Can be pricey per night, but you can get a better deal if you get a hotel/flight package.
“Great location, but.....”
The hotel has a great location; a two minute walk to Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery, 3 minutes to the Charing Cross Tube. But, the price is HIGH, the rooms are quite small, and the service is so, so. I asked to check out 30 minutes late in order to finish a report I was working on. The answer was yes - for an addtional 25 Pounds!
“Central London - Best location to see it all!!”
My wife and I booked our first trip to London and we really lucked out on picking The Grand at Trafalgar Square. This is central London!! Very nice hotel, courteous staff, clean and updated rooms. No problems at all. We were very pleased with the quality of this hotel and the price. Walking distance to Buckingham Palace, London Eye, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben and plenty of shopping. If you arrive via Heathrow you can take the Picadilly train direct to central London. Take the Picadilly Circus stop and you are less than a 10 minute easy walk to the hotel.
“Perfect location!!”
I picked up this hotel online and it was a great choice!! Walking distance from London eye & Thames river , Big Ben, Piccadilly circus, subway station and several restaurants. Trafalgar square is a London attraction and it has a huge art museum. There was something cute in this hotel that I didn't see in any others, right beside the ice machine there was a chilled water faucet and lots of empty bottles, you fill your own bottle of fresh clean water and drink for free!! Only thing I found a little not perfect is the fact that it was cold in the room, I asked for an extra blanket and I was given one with no problem. Over all, I was very happy that I choose this hotel, great location, clean, quiet and has large room for London's standards.
“OK hotel, great location.”
The Grand is somehow mysteriously intertwined with Club Quarters, which is largely a hotel for business travelers. Rooms and service are adequate, but tourists are not going to get much support (no concierege for example). The location on Trafalgar Square is unbeatable, however.
“Great Hotel”
This was a lovely hotel experience - beautiful entrance shared with a restaurant, polite staff, nice hotel overlooking a shady street, clean rooms, but most of all a fantastic location. Right off of Tralfager Square, this hotel is within easy walking distance of the National Gallery, the National Portrait Gallery, the Themes, Parliament and Westminster Abbey. Close access to the Underground at Charing Cross. Brilliant!
“Great location”
Excellent location to get to all parts of London and get closely familiar with great painting collection at National Gallery of art
“Right in the Middle of Everything London”
The Grand was fantastic. We had a studio which had a sofa and kitchen. The location was excellent for everything. We were able to step right out into Trafalgar with the Thames behind. Charing Underground steps away for quick trips to Camden to shop. Bus Stops everywhere. Excellent hotel would stay there again.
“In the meddle of everything!!!!”
The hotel ubication is the best in London. Most of the top landmakrs are walking distance. The service in the reception was good. Definitely I will come back to this hotel in my next trip.
“Location good, service OK”
You can't beat being in Trafalgar Square for a London location. The Grand is close to everything tourist as well as the Metro. They had free internet for guests. But the Grand feels more for business types. The staff did not have our room ready at check in. Also, they were not very friendly and had no information about London for guests. The room was good for a family since they do have pull-out couches, a sink, an empty refrigerator and a microwave. However, if I were staying with just two people, I'd probably find someplace else.
