Dining
Suka - Serves authentic modern Malaysian cuisine prepared with European touches. Overseen by acclaimed New York chef Zak Pelaccio, the menu of fresh British and Malaysian produce marries French cooking techniques with intense south-east Asian flavours. Set on the hotel's ground floor, the restaurant's setting has been redesigned by the Paris-based architect and designer India Mahdavi and encompasses the 'hidden' space following the Long Bar as well as the entire Garden Terrace. This restaurant has a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
Purple Bar - Cocktails and 150 types of vodka are served in a decadent setting of purple and lavender. Furnishings include purple Queen Anne chairs, African barstools, illuminated Venetian etched-glass tables, and a bar fashioned of black stone. Violet-silk opera drapes cover the walls and ceiling.
Lobby Long Bar - An 80-foot-long onyx bar is the focal point of this wittily stylish room. Starck-designed barstools have silver-leaf frames; the backs feature an inset image of a woman's eye by photographer Ramak Fazel. The bar menu includes tapas, caviar, oysters, and Asian seafood. The specially designed cocktails and martinis incorporate fresh, tangy fruit flavors.

“Javi”
Impressive! - Concierge got difficult reservations at restaurants and bars - The service at hotel's bar make it a must before and after partying - Lost my wallet (see prior comment). It was found. Nothing missing! By the way, it was a business trip.
“Style with Warmth”
Amazing hotel in great location. Staff is wonderful--warm and helpful. With every action and communication, it is clear they want their guests to have a terrific time. The concierge staff was incredible. I emailed them with several requests related to theatre tickets and restaurants prior to my stay and they were extremely responsive. The bars in the hotel are great. The lobby bar is very lively. The resident bar is comfortable and quiet with great drinks. The hotel lobby is very cool with interesting furniture and decor. Just plain fun. Frequently, hip places can have arrogant service. The Sanderson is truly unique. Can't think of a better place to stay.
“Not great for Business Travel”
The hotel is very modern. A bit too modern. The service was good and overall quality was good. But you have to have an appetite for the funcky and at times inconvenient. Form over function is not for me.
“Awesome hotel and stay”
I would stay at the Sanderson Hotel any day. When we first walked, the modern style of the lobby and hotel room through us off and I wasn't sure if we'd made the right choice. But once we settled into our room and got used to the design and layout, we didn't want to leave. If only I could have taken the bed and duvet with us back to NYC. The hotel also has a private bar for hotel guests only which make unique drinks. Definitely a must if you're at the hotel. The gym and spa looked great too even though we didn't use them. Sanderson is now our first choice when in London. The location, staff and accommodations can't be beat.
“Great hotel--still one of my top Lonfon picks as the "anti-Ritz"”
If you abhor stuffy hotels (like the Ritz on Piccadilly) this might be the place for you. I keep coming back as the service is good, the staff "beautiful" and if you enjoy hotel interior architecture, its a must see. While its no longer "new," this still is my favorite Starck designed hotel...if nothing else stop by and have a drink at the longbar. Also, if you like watching people liking to be watched and don't mind the occasional late night party in the room next door you will not be sorry you stayed.
“For the COOL in you”
The Sanderson is a cool hotel. So many cool people hang out here that they open a private (Purple) bar for hotel guests because the main (Long) bar is normally packed. Funky decor designed by Philippe Starck - a modern and refreshing change. The elevator is surreal and doesn't fit with the decor which in general I like. Location is fantastic - walk to Oxford Street and the Regent/Bond/Saville Row fashion district will satisfy your shopping needs and the fashionista in you. Food in the hotel is not cheap but lots of cafes around. Unfortunately even the staff are too cool - nobody was there to help with our (6)bags when we arrived and I had to shuffle them into the hotel not wanting to leave them on the sidewalk, the bellhop forgot to return with a bag rack for our suitcase(after saying "I'll be right back"), the front desk forgot to send someone to collect our bags when we were leaving - when we called later the same person answered with an "Oops I forgot". Last but not least a gift that was left at the concierge for a friend to pick up was "lost" and required numerous follow ups before it was found again. Disappointing. If you like the traditional hotel experience this is not for you. Looking for something exciting and very cool then this is top of the list. Service is below par but I guess I'm too cool to worry about that, I'll probably be back again but if little disappointments bug you then don't stay here.
“Design should not be an excuse for lack of maintenance”
Nice design, but maintenance could do a lot better Friendly staff Requested calm room but the room was above the bar with all the noice of the music ... not a hotel for early sleepers
“Great hotel experience”
My husband and I loved this hotel. We stayed in the least expensive room and it was spacious and very cleverly designed so that there was a place for everything. We did not love the guest-only bar but we did like the more popular, Long Bar, a lot. The restaurant for dinner was so-so, but breakfasts were good, just not very cheap.
“Very Impressed”
I didn't expect this hotel to be so beautiful and cool. I have stayed in many hotels in London before, but never in such a modern hotel. Loved it!
“A very good choice”
Highly recommended. Friendly stuff, nice rooms ,very clean & center located.
