“Ordinary and basic”
Very compact and basic rooms, even for greater London, probably reflect costs for visiting upcoming 2012 Olympics. Greenwich is an interesting place to visi for one day.
“Nice locationery friendly staff, great breakfast, room cleaning a joke”
We stayed in this hotel in November 2011. The location is just next to the DLR station, within 20 minutes you are downtown. Very friendly staff and they do their best to make you feel at home. However I have not met one single English citizen, they are either Hungarian, French or Indian. French management wellcoming you at 07.00 am for breakfast in London is a bit weird. If you are on a business trip this is fine, but don`t expect to get in touch with UK culture in this hotel. Breakfast at 15 pounds is not cheap but very good. Room cleaning is another story, they turn the sheets and that`s it. We found used cans, papers, trash from other guests twice and that is because we changed our room because of the fact that the ac was not working, a lot of traffic noise, but it also did not work in the other room. They did not even touch used glasses or plates in our room during three days. Ok for once, very friendly staff, but I would not stay in this hotel another time.
“Small but nice”
We spent four nights in the middle of September with out two 13-year olds. This was one of the few hotels that could accomodate a family of four in one room at a reasonable price. The room consisted of one queen bed and a sofa sleeper that converted into two narrow but single beds. The beds were sufficient for our children but the room itself was very typical of a european hotel - SMALL. We found ourselves bumping into each other but in the end, the room was only used for sleeping and we spent very little time there so it was ok. The hotel is right next door to the Greenwich train station - very convenient. It is also a short five minute walk to downtown shops and restaurants and a very nice variety of cuisines. It is also a short walk to the observatory and the prime meridian. Our room faced the street and we had no issue with street noise or train noise. The restaurant and bar were both very good and we would not hesitate to stay here again in the future.
“A Greenwich Nice Time at Greenwhich Mean Time!!”
This was the first time I stayed in Greenwich during a visit to London and must say that thanks to this hotel, and the surrounding neigbourhood, I will not be my last! I found the hotel on Expedia, and chose it for price and location - what I did not anticipate were the friendly and efficient staff, the great breakfast and the really comfortable rooms - a four star hotel at a three star price.
“Good, convenient, well priced hotel.”
The hotel is ideally situated adjacent to the train station that service both the Docklands Light Rail system as well as the main network rail system. An easy stroll down the road, through the shopping area, takes you to the Thames and a pier where you can pick up a ferry to London. You can also walk through the tunnel under the Thames to the Docklands area on the other side. The hotel itself is well appointed, and presents as a modern and well run hotel. The breakfast option is high quality.
“Good choice”
We stayed in the hotel with my wife and 2 kids (13,2). The hotel provided us all what we needed for our 5 day stay in London. The room was not too big for 4 people, however I would say slightly bigger than standard in other similar hotels. The room was clean and containing all necessary stuff. The bathroom very nice and clean. Hotel staff provided all support we needed and always very pleasant. We also appreciated free of charge internet connection at the lobby. The hotel is located outside from the city center, however there is train station located just next to the hotel. It's only 2 train stations from city center, so takes less than 15 minutes. So we had no problem with trasportation. All in all, pleasant stay for family.
“Right across from Tube Station!!”
The Novatel was a great value. Clean, good service comfortable and right next to the tube station for easy access to London. We'll definately use it again when visiting London
