“20 GBP per day for wireless Internet - really?”
I've stayed at this hotel a few times, and the Holiday Inn nearby. The location is very good, and the hotel is very nice and well maintained (Holiday Inn is good also). I am just getting really tired of the ridiculous charges these hotels are adding to the room charges such that they get bookings with lower room rates...then hit their guests with the extra fees, such as 20 GBP per day for wireless Internet.
“Would do it again!”
Very nice hotel in a great location! The room was extremely comfortable. The hotel service and maid staff was ok but they did miss a few things. It was nothing major and was corrected with one phone call to the front desk. I'd definitely stay here again. Very close to the Gloucester tube station.
“Nice hotel, excellent location”
Excellent location, just half a block from the subway.
“Ideal location”
We were very happy with our choice of this hotel. As well as its excellent location near Underground, great restaurants, shops etc, we had very good service at all times. On 2 occasions, we needed help with personal issues and the Duty Manager and Concierge were extremely helpful; couldn't have asked for more. It is a very busy hotel but we enjoyed our stay so much that we returned a second time when we returned to London. Highly recommended.
“Outstanding London location”
Comfortable hotel in great location. Well-placed for Tube, museums, restaurants, airport access, etc. Physical structure doesn't make it a 5 star, but it's a solid 4 stars with very friendly staff. For a slight premium the "Club" floors offer great amenities - breakfast, internet, day-long lounge and snacks. I always stay at Millennium on my visits to London.
“Brilliance in Kensington”
This hotel was exactly what I was looking for. The location was fantastic, with Gloucester Rd tube station across the road. Many food options and local pubs, as well as places for groceries are all located close by. The staff were fantastic as was the room service. The only issue is the price of the internet - and it states wi-fi, but my laptop needed to be plugged into the cable from the wall to work. Charging 20quid for 24hrs is a little extreme and should be looked into further.
“Need to lift their game”
This hotel is well located. Their internet access charges are excessive in this day and age. Staff on the desk are not particularly friendly and booking accuracy on two occasions was most unsatisfactory. The lobby looks great but they need to do much better.
“Great location”
The location of this hotel makes it a good stay. Other than that, it was mediocre at best. Motel 6 furnishings and mold all over the shower and sink, cold unreceptive staff and outrageous 20 Pound x 24 wifi charges.
“VaRIABLE PERFORMANCE AT THIS HOTEL”
This hotel is located in a great part of London. The rooms are generally of a reasonable size and there is great access to the tube, restaurants, cafes etc. guest histories on check-in are often not reviewed meaning that long-term loyalty to the brand rarely counts in terms of room allocation. Bookings made through expedia are also ineligible for airline rewards. Overall this hotel is recommended but as a regular guest the experience is varied on different stays. Greater service consistency would be a welcome improvement especially on the desk.
“Few bumps in the road but the staff and hotel were amazing!”
Our first night in town, the hotel had us in an interior room (away from the street) and we overlooked their ballroom area. They had a wedding the first night and the band was so loud that we were awakened. The front desk staff told us that they were aloud to play until midnight. The next morning, we asked to be moved as we were informed that there was going to be another wedding the next night. The next room was supposed to be non smoking but we couldn't even use the A/C due to it being a smoking room prior. The front desk staff, again moved us to a final room on a corner that was perfect. I wish we could have had the room the entire time. The staff did a nice job getting us situated. We did take advantage of the concierge desk during our visit as this was a holiday. Julie and the rest of the staff were simply amazing! The breakfast buffet was beautiful however very expensive and we opted to dine at the many restaurants located around the hotel, many of which served breakfast. Great location - next to the Gloucester Road tube station which made getting around very easy. (should have gotten an unlimited pass for the week.) Great experience - can't wait to go back!
