“would go back and stay again”
If I were going back, I'd be happy to stay at the Dophin Hotel again. The staff was very helpful, rooms were spacious and clean, and room service was dependable. It was close to two underground stations. Very convenient.
“Second and last time at Dolphin's”
We were not very happy the way our reservation was handled by front desk person. She was rude and uncooperative It took us a while to get a one bedroom apartment close to what we had booked. Apartment was clean, but we found a bug between the sheets. There is no AC. By the way Theresa, if your sofa beds don't open into a bed, please call them, sofas, day beds, etc. but not sofa beds. The hallways have a very weird smell. To dine at the restaurant is waist of money, terrible food, who undercooks risotto?! We will never go back. We will never recommend this place.
“Clean hotel; horrible food ammenities with restaurant that hardly functioned.”
This hotel was conveniently located, but if food is important to you- pick another place. One day they were out of hamburger, no big deal. Day two they didn't have a functioning kitchen so I couldn't eat dinner at all. Day three they had no one available to cook so no dinner again. This was frustrating. The room had only three channels on the television with a remote that didn't work. No alarm clock and a toilet that when flushed not only had horrible noise from the plumbing, but made the tub gurgle. Oh, and only part of your toilet contents would flush, so the next person to use the toilet got to enjoy the odor of toilet contents that had been festering. Besides that, the hotel was conveniently located and relatively nice.
“nobody who works there .....stayed there”
From check in to check out...the most frustrating accommodations I've have ever had. Can't unpack...no where to put your cloths....Can't access the internet...couldn't even pay for it...it wasn't working. can't take a shower without a flood on the floor...forget about watching TV...no air condition....I could go on and on....why bother...just don't stay there...
“Excellent price performace”
A small condo in London, very nice
“We had a better greeting in Paris”
This is not a hotel. Expect to be treated like you are renting an apartment and you will not be disappointed. We arrived 20 minutes prior to check in time, and were told our room was not ready for 20 more minutes, so we could not check in. We returned in 30 minutes and were left waiting in line for another half hour. Neither the hotel's name nor address come"s up on google maps, so make sure you know where it is before you leave. The phone number on their website was not in service. We had to hire a cab to find it for us after our iphone apps directed us to the wrong tube station. The room was TINY about 12 X 12 ft, but otherwise comfortable. The pool is what attracted us, but sadly my very mature 13 year old daughter was not allowed to use it with me. Only those over 18 may swim except from 10-12 AM and 2-4 PM. The gym facilities and pool are shared with the residents of over one thousand high end apartments, so it could make foreigners feel a little uncomfortable. There are two nice indian restaurants and a tea/coffee shop with pastries and sandwiches within a few blocks.
“No Air Conditioning”
As I was checking in, the receptionist mentioned that I shouldn't ask for any extra fans because they didn't have any. When I asked if the A/C was broke, they said they didn't have air conditioning. It bothers me enough that they don't have it but to not even mention that until you book the hotel and get there is unacceptable. With this situation and others (slow internet, supposedly no internet in the room without a fee - although the lobby username / password works in your room, and other issues) the staff was less than useful and argued with me instead of trying to help.
“Everything we expected and more”
My husband and I were fortunate to spend 10 days at Dolphin House while we were in London for our 5 year anniversary. I had done alot of research on hotels in an effort to find one that was just perfect for us. Dolphin House definintely exceeded our expectations. Each room had a kitchenette, which was something that was important to us, as I have a restrictive diet and we were planning to have several meals at home. When I notified Dolphin House of this, they were able to provide us with a full kitchen which also included a stove and oven (the basic kitchenette includes the fridge, microwave, etc). It even included a washing machine, which was a pleasant surprise for us. The accomodation was more like an apartment than a hotel room, as we had a separate living space, bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen. There was ample space for storage as well. The staff were all very friendly, and housekeeping kept our room very tidy for us. The location was ideal - about a 5 minute walk to Pimlico tube station. The neighborhood was nice. It felt more like a quaint village than a busy tourist area. There were also several restaurants nearby (including the one in Dolphin Square, which was nice). We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay here again if we are able to return to London again.
“Great London Bargain”
We enjoyed everything about this hotel. And found it to be a great London Bargain. Clean and well maintained. Short walk to tube station. Very nice, and free, pool, spa and workout room. If your not looking to be pampered, but want a nice, well kept hotel this is the place.
“Nice digs, but not central”
The Dolphin Hotel is very nice as hotels go - thoroughly modern with nice touches like towel warmers in the bath and a sleek look with woods, metals in a neutral color palette. The beds were extremely comfortable. The two main drawbacks (and these could be big ones depending on your tastes): 1. Lack of central A/C or ability to open windows. It got pretty stuffy in there, but there's no way to get the air circulating, even in bathrooms. Though not the worst thing in the world, I found it a small inconvenience. 2. I wouldn't consider the hotel "in the heart of the city". If you want to be where the action is, don't stay here. Though there's a charming area with a grocery and restaurants within 15-minute walking distance, this isn't where everything's happening. It's a quick taxi ride to other hot spots, but not convenient if you want 24/7 access to nightlife. If you do stay, try out the champagne lounge. Cool vibe with real Londoners!
