However the lodge is damp and the heating is wholly inadequate, the macerator in the shower room had leaked under the laminate floor and was still leaking on my arrival.The property was a health hazard. "I didn't receive any instructions for self check in until I called the letting agent. The property is dark and dingy. It smelled damp and was cluttered with unnecessary furniture (large sofa foot stool, 4 armchairs, 4chairs, fridge freezer & non working fridge, for a double room). The decor is very worn with signs of damage. The carpets are stained. The external area was very overgrown with weeds. The TV remote didn't work and there was no TV ariel connected. "This is a lovely well appointed cottage, spotlessly clean with very comfortable beds. It is clearly a period property with low ceilings in most rooms, narrow stairs and a beam in the floor of the main bedroom. All of this adds to its charm but would be unsuitable for anyone with mobility difficulties. The welcome pack was very thoughtful and Rob the owner who lives in the adjoining property was helpful but unobtrusive. We recommend The Three Blackbirds in nearby Wooditton and any trips into...

"Each time we stay at Rosemead is like arriving home, Julie & Alistair are so welcoming and are amazing hosts! The lodge is beautifully designed and perfectly set up for guest stays in the most idyllic spot in the garden, with so many special touches included like wine, homemade jam, fresh milk, bread and freshly laid eggs from their hens! "This is a lovely, spacious and well-appointed house. It was too hot to make best use of the duvets, but the beds were very comfortable. There was plenty of crockery and cutlery - and a dishwasher to avoid the washing up. The powered recliners were especially welcome after a day of much walking. Naturally there is quite a lot of farm activity in the area, but it was far enough away not to be intrusive, and the people on the farm were very friendly and welcoming. Definitely a property to remember."

"Excellent quiet location and good size rooms with everything you need. Very clean. Comfy beds and loved seeing the birds and wildlife too. Could really have done with freezer/ice box in fridges due to wanting to freeze our cool packs for picnics. Tv was too small. Overall we would stay again. "
