I searched for a room with a spa and unfortunately no hot water I didn't get to have my spa bath and my morning shower was cold. The other quests were extremely noisy until late at night. The coffee machine did not work and no morning coffee biscuits. I would never stay again

Last night of our Tassie started off well with friendly reception, however our room, which was different to what had been advertised, had a bad smell due to defrosted and leaking fridge. Also air con not working well. Staff helped to attend to this but took a while for maintenance to look at Air con and could not fix. Concerning that there appears to be no way to use natural ventilation. Hotel appears dated and short-staffed, but close to CBD and restaurants.

Room was comfortable but I had initial problems accessing TV channels. Receptionist made efforts to help me and eventually found how to select channels without using the remote. Would have been useful to have instructions inside the room.

This hotel had lots of old charm but the room was spacious and very comfortable. The staff were very helpful and efficient.

Very nice front desk manager of old history era building with simple pleasant fixtures not elaborate. Good overall one night stop. We left out phone charger and adapter never heard anything about it. Off street parking good option.

Stay away !! Booked via Wotif. The room supplied was not the deluxe spacious queen advertised It had mouldy mattress, worn carpet and cracked bathroom basin Emailed hotel with photos and they did not respond. Contacted via booking agent and they refuse to offer any refund

It was really bad experience. No service, no staffs and no security. We have to carry the luggage's to the room via the stairs. it is no star hotel at all.

Large comfortable clean modern room. Nicely decorated. Enjoyed our stay. The only drawback was the air conditioner couldn’t be set cooler than 24 celcius. It did get quite warm in the room, and the window wouldn’t stay in the open position. Reception did bring up a pedestal fan but I think guests really should be able to adjust the rooms climate to their individual needs.

We arrived late around 8 pm from QL and found the chef had issues cooking so we went without. No one able to support us the waitress had no idea. Our room was very old and smelly, either damp or nicotine but was uncomfortable while sleeping. We were one curtain missing so anyone on the outside could see through the sides if we had the light on. We had to sign for responsibility of excess of damage and found that the wardrobe shelf was completely broken. When I complained the receptionist she looked blank and said there was nothing she could do. Would not recommend or return to.

The property was fine. But the first morning we needed to leave the room because they needed it. The bathroom light needed to be fixed. I understand things need be fixed but I would have appreciated an earlier notice (e.g. the day before). I wanted to sleep in (I was on holidays) and I couldn't. The second morning there was no hot water to shower. I liked the staff. They were very nice and patient.

The free parking was conveniently positioned directly outside the hotel. The rooms were very spacious compared to other accomodation. The reception and management were warm and friendly as were the restuarant staff. The food was amazing- be sure to factor in dinner here. The rooms we stayed in were upstairs so mobility issues could arise if heavy suitcases need to be brought up the stairs. The room was 2/3’s the cost of similar hotels in the central area. Overall the hotel was comfortable and conveniently located with fabulous hotel service and at the right price point. We would stay here again.

Centrally located to everything we were doing in Launceston. The room was clean comfortable and had everything we needed. The manager was super friendly and went out of her way to ensure that we had a great stay. We will be staying here again on our next visit.

Service was excellent- Thanks Paul. A microwave in the apartment will be a great addition. No smart TV or access to chrome cast. Very poor ventilation. Half the Spar bath didn’t work.

I am 30 years long guest in expedia. This hotel was really not for me. The room was clean. That's it. Limited dining(resraurant is closed till 3rd Jan.) Expedia said it is the best hotel in launceston but it is motel level accomodation. The receiption desk is open just till 6pm. It is very very old hotel. However it is more expensive than grand chancellor launceston which is much better hotel in launceston. please recheck the star level for "four" to "two"

A really nice stay with old world charm.
Had a lovely stay for our anniversary the room was loverly and clean the spa was great and the bed super comfortable . We even had a romantic candlelight dinner thanks to a power outage . Not the hotels fault but thank you to the kind restaurant chef who lent us the tea candle .

The property was clean and comfortable. Whilst central, the area immediately around the hotel is nothing special. The main reason for the unflattering scores is that the traffic noise from my room wasn’t great. I was unlucky to be given the room on William street that had trucks and buses going past regularly. I’m guessing many of the other rooms didn’t have that problem

The hotel is very old, and because of the age of the hotel and the fact that no upgrading to the hotel has taken place, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who has mobility issues. There is NO lift (the staff were very kind in changing our room to a lower floor and helping us with our suitcases to the first floor). The room was very small and we had very little space to hang any clothes. The food in the restaurant was delicious, but there is no breakfast or coffee available from the hotel. Cleaning of the room only took place every second day, so any rubbish had to be emptied by yourself, or stayed in your room for 2 days. Free off street parking was available and it also had free internet available. Very limited coffee and tea available for use in your room, we stayed for four nights and only had refresh of supplies once in the four days. Outside our bedroom window was a verandah accessible by the room next to us. The lights shone into our room, and the curtains were not wide enough to block out the light.

Hello Jennifer, Thank you for taking the time to write a review and your feedback is very important to us. Many people book with us because it is a historical property, but I do appreciate that the stairs are a challenge for people with mobility issues. We do state on all booking sites that there are no lifts onsite, so people who wish to book with us can request or book a ground floor room. We do only service rooms every other day, however additional servicing can be done by request. Our reception is also open 11 hours a day for guests' convenience. If anything is needed, like more coffee, tea, sugar, towels etc, they can be requested through the reception. The restaurant is separately owned and operated, and are only open for dinner (and a very delicious dinner at that!), but there are many cafe's and breakfast places nearby where guests can grab something to eat. Every room in our hotel is also equipped with a kettle and coffee pod machine, so they can enjoy complimentary coffee and tea in their rooms if they don't wish to purchase them outside. Thank you for that information about the curtains, I will check on them and see if wider curtains need to be ordered. Again, thank you for your feedback and hope to see you again in the future : )
