“Relaxation on the Costa Blanca - a world away from Benidorm”
The Albir Playa is a relaxing, good quality hotel conveniently situated for peace and quiet but close enough to Benidorm if you want the bustle. The rooms are bright and comfortable and breakfast has a wide choice of hot and cold food. One tip if you like really hot food you will need to make use of the microwave available near the hot drink station. There is a good cheap bus service running from Altea to Benidorm. This is the second time we have stayed in the hotel and will definitely go back again.
“Second Visit did not disappoint”
3 years ago we were impressed and on our return visit we felt the same. Very helpful, friendly staff, spacious rooms, and overall very good value for money. Not far from the beach, several supermarkets plus other shops and many restaurants nearby.
“Brilliant location!”
The hotel is in a great location - only 45 mins from the airport and right next to the beach. If you do get an airport transfer, go with ZIP Transfers; really friendly and on time. Once we arrived at the hotel we checked in smoothly and were pleasantly surprised to see a spacious hotel room with balcony and clean bathroom. It was a really nice room. They include a tv which has 2 or 3 English channels - Sky News, Flava music channel and a kids channel. The balcony included 2 chairs and a table which was perfect for relaxing. The beach was easy to find and literally 10 minutes away. The beach wasn't too crowded either which was nice. We didn't use the Spa but the pool was lovely with a waterfall feature. The bar was great; the cocktails were superb and the bar staff were lovely. Food was hit and miss - on the first night we had dinner at the hotel and it was pretty awful. Potatoes too salty, uncooked chicken and warm salad. We were able to change dinner for lunch quite easily though; you just need to inform them a day before. Breakfast was yummy and lunch was much better than dinner. For dinner we would go to the restaurants nearby - Indian, Chinese, Italian and Spanish tapas. Could not fault the food at these restaurants and very inexpensive. The location really was the best bit and the area was quiet...no car traffic or street traffic. There was also a Lidl right outside the hotel so perfect (and cheap!) for buying water and snacks. Thoroughly recommend this hotel!
“business stay”
The regular 3.5 star hotel. bed was extremely not comfortable. i-met slow and interrupting. Overall, no problem. Noce stay for the value.
“A comfortable hotel”
The hotel was recommended by my brother who stayed there last year. Overall a very comfortable hotel. I had requested interconnecting or adjoining rooms as I was travelling with young children and grandma so was a little disappointed that we were 6 doors apart which resulted in a lot of to'ing and fro'ing along the corridor. The sofa bed in one of the rooms didn't work and hotel was reluctant to repair it - we ended up repairing it ourselves. The hotel was perfectly adequate-good, staff friendly and helpful, rooms and common areas clean. The hotel was very busy (August Bank Holiday) and I think resulted in staff and facilites being quite stretched - sun beds limited, the clearing and re-setting of restaurant tables was slow. However, my brother said that when he has visited out of school holidays this has never been a problem. I would recommend this hotel.
