Awesome stay at a very cute ryokan. Very close to Nishiki market for food and the Michelin inoichi hanare ramen which was great. Staff were helpful and friendly

A lovely experience! Loved the traditional Japanese breakfast. The private bath was fully booked the evening we stayed, so I'd suggest booking/reserving it well in advance. Everything else was absolutely amazing! Loved the traditional room - it smells amazing!

Recommend to give it a try if you would like to experience tatami rooms and futon beds, though please note ryokan is usually small.

the place is beautiful, very clean, and convenient location, very close to restaurants, convenient stores, and all the tourists sites in old Kyoto. in general service was good, allowed us to have an extra bedding to make the stay more comfortable. I recommend the place.

Laura makes this ryokan a must!! She was so helpful in helping to find our luggage and shipping out luggage to the next hotel via the black cat service. The Japanese breakfast is delicious. I loved the traditional Japanese rooms with tatami mats.

This Ryokan is a blend of traditional and modern. Very charming room and the decor in the lobby matches traditional Japan with a model samurai armor. The safe is very friendly. About a 10 minute walk to metro station and to shops and restaurants. There is also a laundry place around the corner.

We had a very nice ryokan experience here at Kyomachiya Ryokan Sakura Urushitei! The staff were very attentive to us! They even gave us a private dining space from the other guests. The amenities were well maintained.

Amazing trad Japanese architecture, interior, and vibe! If you're looking for traditionalism, this is the hotel. It's also great because all the staff is nearly fluent in English and will also help you do things like find fugu reservations, recommend sites, plan trips, etc.

Staff was polite, friendly and very helpful. Area is relatively quiet, even during the day and the streets were clean. The ryokan room we stayed was lovely and neat, love the vibes and tatami. Overall, it was a really pleasant and memorable experience. 10/10 would recommend.

We loved this ryokan! Our first time in one, and it was perfect. Excellent service, super clean, comfy mats and a great shower. Excellent location, good breakfast, and quick laundry service. Very pleased!

I would definitely recommend this place for a first time stay at a Ryokan in Kyoto! The location, staff, and rooms were great! Various language friendly as well :) Only thing is for me its a one time try as I realized not having a TV, regular beds, other room amenities, etc. Is just not for me. That being said, I really did enjoy my stay and I'm sure anyone else who comes here would too.

I wanyed the experience of saying in a Ryokan style room but with the comforts of a hotel, this place was perfect. Our room was spacious and perfectly decorated, it even had a small balcony too. The futon beds were so comfortable, I'd highly recommended them, themost comfortable beds we had all holiday! The staff were so helpful and friendly. We used the private bath which was lovely and relaxing, and only a small fee. We even had our washing done by staff for only £5. My only negative was that there was no restaurant and that unfortunately they were unable to do activities advertised on their website due to covid restrictions.

Lovely place to stay. The staff are very friendly and helpful, they'll give you information about the surrounding area as well as the ryokan itself. It's a short walk to Shijo station, which is only 2 stops from Kyoto main station, and is also in walking distance of Nishiki market. The whole ryokan is very clean and looks attractive. I was expecting the room to be smaller so was pleasantly surprised by how spacious it was. The bath is definitely worth a try too, really hot and relaxing!

Had a great time, property is well located so you can get pretty much anywhere. Staff are all amazing very customer service focused. We had a Japanese style room so I felt like a teenager again sleeping on the floor which was surprisingly comfortable.
