Rooms were small, but worth the price. And the owner was very helpful. I meet my brother and he arrived earlier. The owner didn't have two single rooms on the same floor, so he let me stay in a larger room, so I could be on the same floor as my brother.
It's a run down building in a bad part of town, but if you just need a place to sleep, it's very convenient, safe, and worth the money! If I went to HK again, I would stay there.
This hotel really treats their guests as first priority. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful and made us very welcome. We arrived at 9am and check-in is listed as 2pm but the hotel staff were able to have a room ready for us by 11.30am. It was on a non-smoking floor as requested, but there had obviously been a smoker in the room and we were immediately given another room, an upgrade, with larger room and harbour view. Loved the room but we couldn't adjust the air-conditioning. We reported it next day and it was attended to immediately but still a problem the next night. We were asked if we would like to change rooms and were offered another lovely room which we accepted.
Hubby and I spent a week here and absolutely loved our stay in this hotel. The things we liked the most were 1) the free use of a smartphone which made it easy to contact family back in Sydney plus easy to find restaurants, shops etc. whilst on foot in HK 2) free use of minibar - bottles of water, juice poppers, beers, and snacks as well as various teas/coffee 3) beautifully designed bathroom which included a rain shower 4) fantastic view from our room which was a "Harbour View" room 5) outstanding gym which had a view across Victoria Harbour 6) the very helpful and courteous concierge and staff in general and 7) the regular and very punctual shuttle bus. We would certainly like to come back to HK and would once again stay at Hotel Icon.
We stayed for nine days and the experience could not have been better. We would recommend paying for a harbour view room, newspapers and the daily supply of apples were free. A bus stop for the free transport to Kowloon MTR station for the fast line to the airport is fifty metres from the hotel. All the staff could not have been more helpful and check in and out is speedy. We hope to stay at the Sheraton again in 2015.
A very nice hotel. We were welcomed by the hotel staff and taken to the VIP area on the 39th floor to check in where we were given tea and small cakes.
Our room was on the 32nd floor with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the harbour, fantastic view. Complimentary WiFi, a morning newspaper, complimentary soft drinks from the mini bar and access to the VIP lounge made our visit special.
Some may feel the rooms were small but ours was more than adequate. Our room was clean and pleasantly furnished.
Staff were always pleasant and helpful.
