“Good value. would use again”
I enjoyed our stay and would go back and stay. Staff helpfull and friendly. No complaints
“Great Hotel in K.K.”
If you want a great hotel not far from the K.K. airport this is it.
“Great Kota Kinabalu Hotel”
The Beverley is about 10 minutes walk away from the main hustle and bustle of KK (or a couple of dollars by taxi). We really enjoyed staying there, and we will definitely use the hotel as a base next time we go to KK. It was very reasonably priced, and we felt it was an excellent hotel.
“Expectations Exceeded!”
The Beverly Hotel is very conveniently located a short walking distance to the city centre. A free shuttle bus service is provided if you need to go further afield. I was very impressed with the service and friendliness of the staff who made my stay very comfortable and enjoyable. My room was very clean, tidy and quiet. The decor is pleasant, the air-conditioning and fan worked well and the bed was extremely comfortable. However, I was a little disappointed by the older model crt television and by the limited selection of satellite tv channels - especially for movies. One thing I like to enjoy doing when I relax at a hotel is to watch good movies or documentaries, but my choice was very limited. The pool was very small and so I didn't bother to use it at all because with 3 or 4 children in the pool, there was no room to swim. A third inconvenience was the internet connection which was supposed to be available 24/7 but the connection was limited. On a brighter note, the restaurant and its staff were superb. There was a huge selection of freshly cooked buffet menu breakfast choices and the muesli and made to order omelette were delicious. The dinner menu has a great variation and all food was superb. The in-house entertainment was provided by a talented song and dance trio called Mix Magazine who were great performers. Another point of interest are the 'pet' turtles which inhabit the water feature in the spacious and welcoming lobby area. I have booked a return visit.
“cool place”
wonderful place.. clean and cool but a bit far from major attractions. worth the price
“We were happy...”
The hotel looks a bit run down but it's clean, comfortable and does a great breakfast!! It is a walk from the centre of town (markets etc) though there are shopping malls nearby. We always walk everywhere so it was no problem for us (though I wouldn't want to try and get kids across the main intersection nearby!). The main bus depot (for city buses and mini buses) is really close if needed. It completely met our needs and was great value for money!
“Not impressed.”
The breakfast was not bad. Room service is ok. But there is no lift from basement carpark to lobby. This mean I had carry all my luggage and walk on the staircase (which is in open air, it is slippery due to rain) since I am driving by my own to hotel. I did not see any security guard on duty at carpark too.
“sabah best hotel”
good good good !!
“A picture does not tell 1000 words.”
reasonable value for money but the hotel is not as the pictures appear. Pool is disgusting.
“Hotel of many names”
The Sabah Oriental / Beverly Hotel / (another name) benefits from friendly and helpful staff, however, the facilities are in need of maintenance and update. Situated at the south end of KK it's a little out of town, but not too far to walk. The smell of the canal makes the small pool and deck unpleasant. Breakfast is OK but mold on the pancakes didn't seem to bother the kitchen staff. Rating should be 1 to 2 stars less than claimed but you could do worse in KK.
