“Mantra Review Jan 2012”

Superb in many ways as indicated with the scoring ratings. There is one downside however. The hotel is situated up in the hillside, which gives fabulous views, but it is about 1500km down a very steep winding road/dirt track (partially lit) to the main road and another 500m or so from there to Bo Phut beach. The hotel does supply a very reliable courtesy coach transfer a few times a day, to and from two specific locations, but by not being able to walk easily onto the road yourself we felt a bit restricted. A hire car would solve this problem.

“Great for couples, business or families”

very cool hotel, great infinity pool looking over the water and surrounding islands. Bliss. Our two daughters aged 10 & 11 loved it too.

“Friendly staff and convenient shuttles to town”

Mantra Samui is a great hotel with friendly staff. The stay includes an amazing complimentary breakfast and the free shuttles to Chaweng Beach and Fisherman's village were so convenient.

“Mantra Samui - Really Nice new Hotel”

WE only spent one night as we went through Samui but the hotel is brand new, very nice, top notch amenities and layout. Beautiful rooms and a spectacular view. Only drawback if it even is one is location is off the beach on a hill side. But you can get there, they'll give you a ride. The property and pool, view, are fantastic.

“I Love Mantra”

We were amongst the first Guests of Mantra and we are svery very happy with this hotel. This hotel is very different from other five star hotels because you feel relaxed and happy but at the same time all the staff is very professional and they speak very very good english - something not easy to find on Koh Samui. The hotel is located on a hill and because of this it has amazin views over the Sea and Koh Phangan from all the rooms. The hotel took us to the beach free of charge and the ride was about 5 minutes. We have booked a WOW room but were upgraded to the COZY room. that room is amazing: spacious, beautiful and very creatively designed with cermaic coffee beans on the wall. the breakfast was great - bot buffet but excellent and freshly made dished. loved the banana pancake. The reception is cool and they play very very good music. I would recommend this hotel for people who appreciate if the hotel is very unique, friendly and relaxed.

“Saied”

This was my first trip to Samui and I am very happy to stay in the Mantara. Except the delay of the Shuttle service to pick us up from the airport, the overall hotel service was excellent. We were always greeted with smile and felt we were special guest at the hotel. At our arrival, our room was upgraded to a suite overlooking the pool and we were given till 4:00 o’clock to checkout on our last day. The hotel is on top of hill and getting to the main road is long and you will need transportation to get around. I will stay there again and recommend this to anyone who want to have a quiet place away from the tourist crowd.

“Lovely, but isolated. Best for couples.”

This is a lovely hotel. The rooms are spacious and luxurious, the staff very helpful and courteous. If you are looking for a quiet romantic getaway spot, this is for you. What may not be to travellers liking- it is away from any restaurants, shops, bars etc. I think most people basically stayed at the resort when they were there, and didn't get out much. I was there with my two 20-something daughters for two nights only and that was probably long enough for us. We left and stayed on Chaweng beach , so we had more options for activities. Plus , the food and drink were much more expensive at Mantra.

“Luxury and peace”

Hotel location not great if you want to be near a beach. If however you want peace, quiet and luxury away from the main hub bub of Koh Sumai - this is the place for you. Impressive reception and very welcoming Thai staff. The hotel offers free transport to the beach, however we suggest you rent one of their scooters and explore the little bays of the island. We reserved a LOVE room, which had an amazing sea view and a our own Jacuzzi in the veranda. The nearby fisherman village offers a good choice of restaurants and bars and on Friday night you can taste the local food at the night market.
