Lovely room in peaceful resort
Nice sized room with big bed and lovely balcony. We had a fridge and good tv which was great but the air con didn’t get very cool and WiFi was patchy in our room. Breakfast and pool were nice and we loved only walking 5 minutes to the beach. Although the resort was peaceful there was a lot of noise from the bars across the road until around 1am each night.

Lack of English would be okay.. but if receptionists doesn't understand even one word I don't really see the point of that person being there by herself..... also hotel condirmed that they will do something special for us but nothing was done when we arrived.

The hotel is lovely, big spacious rooms, fresh breakfast and the location is great in between Chaweng and Fisherman’s village! However the hotel could be kept better, it is a bit tatty in areas, also staff not as helpful as I would have liked. The pool bar was never open either!

This property needs a lot of maintenance. The pool is out of action so there is no swim up bar or any bar at all. There is no restaurant except for breakfast.

Staff is lazy and service is slow. Mixed up room booking and services, took us forever to check-in. I didn’t know a five star hotel would require guests to specifically request for change of towels in order to provide that. And when we asked about the excursions the hotel offered, the staff simply made us follow her to the tour agent across the street, left us there and let us dealt with the agent directly

The Staff is soo friendly! We arrived at 12 and didn‘t have to wait till the proper check in time which is 14.00 we could straight go to our room! The Breakfast was really good and got fresh fruits everyday! The Hotel itself appears to be a little bit older, the poolbar isn‘t used anymore and the sunbeds are really uncomfortable but the big sofas are great. The Beach is just around the corner and i cannot stress enough about how great the stuff is! It felt like home! We stayed 6 Nights and i highly recommend this Hotel :) Best Regards and thank you again!

This hotel has the potential to be great. The main swimming pool is beautiful. the kids play centre lovely and a nice gym. The rooms are lovely too. However there are a few things that need to be improved. There was only 4 umbrellas around the main pool and it was super hot (unlike the picture shown). So more shade and chairs need to be provided. The chairs were not that comfortable either. The breakfast was ok. Sometimes cold (staff forgot to light the warmers under the hot foods). The day time reception staff where not overly friendly and quite abrupt. The grounds staff and cleaning staff were lovely however. I found the beds really hard and our room was only supplied with two hard pillows. After two days of not sleeping I found out that other rooms had 4 pillows so I requested another 2 and they were soft and delivered immediately. Our room was also supplied without a hairdryer and mosquito coil but other rooms had them.

LOUD AF, don't stay in the pool villa
Stayed at this resort for their private pool villa and it was close to the pier for diving excursions. This area is quite quiet compared to other parts of Koh Samui. But at nighttime, there is a nightclub or disco across the street so music is blasting until 3-4AM. I wouldn't stay here again, the pool needed maintenance for sure as the jets wasn't working and there was so much dead bugs, leaves and rubbish in the pool. The filter lids was loose and when I requested the pool cleaned... the cleaner took 3 hours, and just removed the lid instead of fixing it, so it left me with a big hole in the pool. It's such a shame considering the room was very nice and their room service was good

It was clean and quiet considering the location. Rooms were nice, spacious, clean and comfortable. Clean linen, good amenities. Breakfast was ok, a little on the light side for choice though. Resort occupancy was down so it was very quiet.👍 Close walking distance to beaches, shops, cafes, bars etc. If back in Samui, definitely consider staying again.

My stay was the worst thing can happen to a turistas!!! When I arrived to the hotel they asked me to put a deposit of 2000 bht.. when I checked out they tried to give me a fake money!!!! This is the worst hotel I have been!!!

Customer service was absolutely non-existent, especially the front lobby and the restaurant side. The staff were all rude and they either pretended they couldn't speak English or they just couldn't be bothered with us. We were never shown where to have our breakfast and when I asked whether the hotel provided free shuttle service, the response was a sales strategy to promote the local taxi service. This joint should NOT and NEVER be a 4-star hotel, it's a disgrace to other 4-star hotels I had stayed with. If you are looking for a budget sort of hotel from the usual luxury ones, do NOT pick their Pool Villa - both pump/filter did not work until the third time of visiting the lobby. By losing my temper and ruining my holiday mood in doing so, they eventually sent someone to replace the pump. However, replacing the water pump didn't fix the state of the water, so we thought - we waited for half a day to see if the water would become clear and the smell would go, but the yellowy colour and smell remained until the day we checked out (3rd day after repair). Not only was the pool unswimmable in, beyond the pool was an unused old pond encompassing all Pool Villas, which is a breeding ground for mosquitoes. All in all, this place was a flipping nightmare! Your life will be the same again!

Bit tired but lovely hotel. Rey friendly Staff but most really struggle to understand very basic English - such as when you order something off the menu - we sent breakfast back each morning because vegetarian had meat in as a matter of course - but they can usually find someone to help. Breakfast buffet was cold as no heaters lit under dishes. Pool needs attention - bit of a green hue to the tiles. We enjoyed our stay though and it’s a perfect location

Best Hotel Environment and Staff!
I need to give my full appreciation to this hotel and the staff here. The pool access room and the facilities (gym room,swimming pool, buffet breakfast) are great. The staff are very helpful and cheerful, especially the reception lady. We encountered a flight cancelation in the last day and she tried here best to assist us to contact the airline. Apart from these, the hotel location is good too, it only take 20mins to Chaweng or Fisherman's village. This is the best hotel experience in my life. Thank you so much.

Kinda average but good location for one nice beach
The best part of this place is the main pool area and the proximity to a nice beach. Otherwise the place is in need of maintenance and it is located some way away from the main shops/beach. Front desk was ok but one day the room servicing was very minimal. No WiFi and air con broke while we were there. We had a deluxe pool access room but pool shared with 3 other rooms so not really very useful and view looks onto a muddy gross pond. Breakie was ok.

baywater is nice.
this place is really nice and tranquil. the time we were there wasn't many people at all. we love the quietness, freedom and space of it. room was spacious and view was good. the local area is peaceful. the beach though not snorkelling ideal, its good beach for swim and sunbathing.

Nice hotel in quiet area.

Enjoyed our stay at Baywater. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The accommodation was comfortable and modern. Spacious room and balcony. We enjoyed lounging on the balcony. Appreciated being able to arrange transportation via the hotel shuttle.

Staff and employees there did not seem to care
The venue was not too bad at all. However, the staff did not seem to be happy about their job. I stayed there for 6 nights with my wife and 1.5 YO son along with our teenage brothers. Food was so-so and service was not good. They did not make us feel welcome and almost regarded our requests and necessities as nuisance. Almost 90% of the staff seemed miserable... Dissapointing really.

Nice hotel! Had to wait a little to check in but they gave us a needed late checkout which was appreciated. Hotel was nice, enjoyed the room front pool which was very clean and water fairly warm. Only stayed 2 nights before flying out. Only negative, the Internet was a little intermittent!

Great hotel. Staff couldn't do enough for you. They allowed us a late check out which was great!! It was pouring with rain on last day, staff got soaked making sure we got from our room to taxi without getting wet ourselves. Hotel was nice and clean, rooms were spacious and clean. We had pool access room which was pretty much private! Food was lovely. Breakfast had lots of choice for all tastes. Facilities were great and gym look brand new. Pool was nice and quiet with all day long happy hour, drinks were so cheap! Beach is 2 min walk away. There are bars and restaurants close by. Chaweng and fisherman's village not far away if you don't want to stay around hotel. We made use of shuttle and taxi service at hotel which was pretty reasonable. I would 100% stay here again and would recommend it to others.

Great location and value
Baywater came recommended from a client and it did not disappoint. We chose a room with the private pool on the patio.. awesome! Rooms are huge, clean, and comfortable. Loved this part of the island. We rented a scooter from the hotel and took a day trip around the island. So glad we weren’t staying near Cheweng beach. Crowded and noisy! The beach is just a couple hundred yard across the street from Baywater and much more peaceful. Wile I guess it would be nice to be right ON the beach, it’s a very minor detail and the value & quality of the hotel made up for that. Super friendly and helpful staff. Get the buffet breakfast. Perfect way to start the day. Would definitely return and recommend to all.

Beautiful hotel with amazing service
My partner and I stayed at the Baywater Hotel for one week. We absolutely loved it. The staff is super friendly and tries to fulfil any wishes we may have. The rooms are spacious and modern. The beach is very close which is one of the most beautiful and private beaches on Koh Samui. Chaweng is a 10 min drive away which was perfect for us as we wanted a quiet week. There are many shops and restaurants around the hotel and there are shuttles going to Chaweng from the hotel too. We highly recommend this hotel. If you have another 200 dollars per night in your budget go to Sala which is located next door. Beautiful resort too but pretty pricey. Nice area there.

We had a club pool villa, there was a murky pond between the back wall and the pool and the hotels rooms look straight into your pool so there is no privacy. The breakfast was OK although not much on offer and the hot foods were barely warm. We had 5 days of rain which is obviously not the hotels fault but there was absolutely nothing to entertain guest stuck at the hotel, the TV channel selection was very poor and management also decided this was a good time to reduce the 3 happy hours a day down to just 1 which we considered mean! The rain flooded the grounds and also flooded our bathroom. Checking out was frustrating as a group had arrived and apparently all desk staff were required to check in guests whilst we were left with no assistance checking out, organizing bags and transport.

great small resort with fantastic staff
We stayed five days at the Baywater Resort last week of December 2016. As stated by many reviewers the resort is fantastic. Value for money is hard to beat especially if you book a regular room. They are huge (seriously) and the noise insulation is absolutely amazing (I am unfortunately very noise sensitive). The service is absolutely top. Not only the room was clean and cleaned up every day but even once cleaned the beds were "refreshed" every evening while we were out eating (and of course we never asked for that so must be part of the standard service). The only not so good surprise is the 400 Baht for the 5 or 10 minutes drive from/to the airport. US $12 for a 4 Km drive in Thailand? mmmmhhhhh The breakfast was really great with quite a lot of choices. The food was flavorful. A couple of Asian options but not as spicy as for locals ;-) The staff were really perfect. Very attentive. Also they noted our habits and always asked first if they should serve the cafe latte (macchiatto) for me and the ice coffee for my son when we were seated for breakfast. Nice swimming pool and the beach is just a 2 or 3 minutes walk away. Very nice beach. Plenty of restaurants around. Plenty of shops to rent scooters (motorbikes) for 200 Bahts a day to discover the island. Should I go back to Koh Samui I would definitely book at the Baywater Resort again. No doubt.

Great hotel with calm and relaxing environment
We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights. The hotel is located in a nice and calm area with not much of a nightlife around. However there are some stores, local restaurants with a fair price and some bars around. There are also minigolf and soccer minigolf nearby. The beach is a short walk from the hotel, it was pretty windy when we went so we didn't stay there. The hotel stuff is amazingly nice and servicable. The breakfast was rich and tasty. Our room was big and clean. The room cons are that the sattelite english movie channels were missing (not sure if for good or temporary problem) and it was located in the third floor without elevator. It didn't bother us but you should check that if it bothers you. The pool is big and has a bar in which they have several happy hours during the day serving beers and lovely coctails. The hotel has also play room for kids. If you are looking for a calm and relaxing vacation, for couples or families, this is the place for you. We really enjoyed our stay... highly recommended!

Absolutely Perfect Hotel
We stayed in Baywater for just one night, this wasn't enough - we wanted to stay longer and will definitely be returning! We had a private pool room, and it was so clean and spacious, I really cannot fault the hotel. We enjoyed some Strawberry Daquiri's in the bar with the bar man Ya. He was brilliant, he gave us good tips about the surrounding areas and spoke very good English. He told us about his life and asked about ours, we got engaged whilst we were staying in Thailand, and he congratulated us. He is a real asset to the hotel. All other staff were very friendly, but Ya was like our personal helper! We loved him! Thanks Ya! :)

Lovely stay spoiled somewhat by other guests
A beautiful resort with excellent facilities and huge main pool. Unfortunately a large Chinese tour group occupied the resort for most of our stay. They had no idea of etiquette or politeness - spitting, smoking in the pool, shirtless at breakfast. smoking at breakfast. We tend to avoid places that cater to large tour groups for this very reason. That's a shame as this place is really lovely.

Very helpful staff, nice breakfast , lovely facilities . Very quiet . We got upgraded to a pool access room , fantastic. Restaurants , beach and local transport all close

Gorgeous resort, amazing hospitality!
We loved our stay at the Baywater! The resort is beautiful and our room was clean, spacious and quiet. Breakfast was great with lots of options, and the beach is a short, shady walk away (less than 5 minutes lazy stroll). But the icing on the cake was the amazing staff: everyone was super-helpful and happy. Thanks Team Baywater!
