"It’s a lovely hotel. As it is a very old building it doesn’t look much from the outside but inside it was nice. It could do with a bit of a makeover. I can only speak for the room I was in. Maybe new curtains and some up to date furniture. Other than that it was very clean. All staff that I seen were lovely. I did not eat in the hotel so cannot comment on food. Overall I had a good experience."

"The location is in a more residential area and is hard to find as the actual address is on a busy road and depending what direction you're coming from, you can't necessarily notice that the actual entrance is on another street. The hotel and restaurant are more dated than photos suggest, but overall satisfactory. The walls are pretty thin, so you can hear almost anything from the neighboring rooms. "

"The place is lovely where it is. A little hard to find as I was used to the old entrance to the race course which has now changed. The bathroom toilet set was suited to the bowl it was on and some of the walls were still not painted. However if you ignored those things. Everything else was very good. It will be a lot better when they can get a chef or cook for the restaurant side of the business as there wasn’t one when we visited over 2 days. "

"We arrived at about 4 pm reception staff very friendly and all three rooms were ready for us. The hotel was clean & tidy and bar staff also very welcoming. My twin room was spotlessly clean with a well stocked tea tray with range of teas/coffee/biscuits etc. and premium bottled waters. Large shower room and ample towels, toiletries and bath robes. Only complaint is kitchen closes early at 6.45pm and no other options to eat out close by and rooms to front can be noisy being on a main road. Overall, would stay again, ideal for racecourse and Palace."
