"The location on the island was great. The hot tub was nice, but should have been built inside the fence of the more adult pool, instead of the smaller kid type pool. There should be restrictions on kids being in it unattended, as it's not really healthy for kids, especially developing young males. It's also not very relaxing with kids getting in and out non stop. Any time we asked staff for assistance, they were all very helpful. The main area for improvement would be the quality of the breakfast, but it's not par for most hotel breakfast buffets. Also, if they could clear the path from the hotel to the beach (the deck/walkway was partially buried under a dune) that would be great to make it easier to actually pull a beach cart out there carrying supplies. Lastly, I don't know if they were sold out, but we were only able to book an oceanview room with 2 double beds. It would be nice for couples to have a king bed to sleep in."

"Everything went smoothly with our stay. The small but comfy condo was ready when we arrived and very clean. We had the basics that we needed for our stay and especially appreciated the pet friendly aspects like easy dog walking. The queen bed in the one bedroom was quite comfortable and the pullout sofa in the small living area worked perfectly for our grandson. I should add that he loved the fabulous pizza at Coastal Cucina restaurant that was located right on the property. For those with younger children, there is a playground with a pirate ship right below the door to the unit. The pool was lovely and it was easy to get to beaches, the marsh trail, and other paths for biking around the beautiful island. It was especially fun to ride our bikes to the pier in the Historic District for sunset dining. The host was extremely helpful and accommodating, even going above and beyond by picking up and shipping some late-arriving packages to us after we had returned home. We would be delighted to stay at one of Michael’s properties in the future and have no hesitation in highly recommending him as a host."

"We visited our favorite island, Jekyll Island Ga. For a quick getaway , June 6-8, staying at the “Best Western Plus Jekyll island. This once magnificent hotel is ragged around the edges but very functional, our room was clean, with an excellent AC “split” that cooled and kept humidity down. Rug was older than it should have been, couch is way to old and soft, bathroom are in good working order, ample closet dressing room. The property itself is what brings my opinion lower than it should be, cracked broken cement walkways, heavily painted doors and walls, the breakfast room was small but tidy, the breakfast was horrible! Serving a factory cooked cheese omelette that was tasteless, alongside charred, over microwaved sausage patties that tasted like something it shouldn't have was the last straw. Only good thing in breakfast room was the coffee. I just don’t understand why hotel proprietors think that this type of warmed over food is acceptable? The kitchen consisted of a microwave and a refrigerator/freezer. Would i stay again? Id try real hard not too. Staff at front desk was without help, so anything you needed required standing in line for 10-15 minutes while he worked out what the customer needed. We love Jekyll Island and have been back frequently, just not staying here…"
