Helpful, friendly and informative staff. Fully appreciate the traditional architecture and warm atmosphere of a historical building. The well equipped public kitchen provides guests with the flexibility of preparing their own meals. Reminds me of dormitory experience back in University good old days. Room is large and comfortable. The only complaint is an additional charge for the outdoor onsen. One final note is guests of upper floors are required to carry their own luggage climbing up a steep wooden staircase to their rooms

Beautiful historical ryokan provides a unique and comfortable stay to experience Japanese culture at its finest. Stayed in a private room with a family of four and very much enjoyed the shared onsen, kitchen, and living areas. Very quiet and respectful guests.

This place is extremely atmospheric, almost like staying in a museum, e.g.Tokaikan next door. The Seagull Room was lovely with cherry blossoms branches right outside the window, from where you could see koi in the stream. The hostel is full of vibes and community spirit but it is also quite a budget accommodation. The Onsen is properly maintained. Ear plugs are provided as the walls are thin and you could hear your neighbours. I'd recommend bringing your own eye mask and if you're like me, your own plush towels.

Traditional and authentic hot spring inn on a buget. Sufficiant self-service amenities available, including a communal kitchen, laundry, and make your own bed/futon system. Walls are thin (due to the age of the building) but was not bad at all, and complimentary earplugs are provided in the room. Stayed in a private room with shower, toilet, sink and a mini fridge. Beautiful view of the river from the room. Would love to stay again.

Staff very pleasant and helpful. This ryokan is so beautiful. Onsen bath is very nice and price so reasonable. Lots of restaurants around the area. We had a very good time!

This hostel is over 100 years old and feels like being inside a piece of art or a museum. Every little detail is aesthetic to the decorations and set up from the lounge areas, to the rooms which each have their own tasteful decor, to even the bathrooms and the tiled shared sinks. The location right over the river is just breathtaking as well. The private and public onsens are just lovely as well and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend coming here even if it is just to enjoy this building.

The building itself is considered a historical landmark by Japan. The hosts were super friendly and welcoming and spoke multiple languages aside from just English and Japanese. The beds could’ve been a bit more comfortable but other than that the rest of the experience was very relaxing. It’s also a 5 minute walk from the beach. I will definitely be staying here when I come back to Japan.

This place is a perfect combination of a beautiful historical building and some modern features (i.e. toilet, shower, kitchen, etc.) for your comfort of stay. We didn't mind the squeakiness of the wooden floor or the thin wall as we were able to sleep tight after soaking in the onsen onsite. By the way, there is a Mega Don Quijote store less than 20 minutes away on foot. If you need to stock up souvenirs, go there and find some good deals, much better than at the airport. If you are looking for some local specialty food, check out the sun-dried seafood called himono at 山国商店，5 minutes away from K's. We enjoyed our relaxed two-day holiday at Ito, a small and quaint town.

Loved the authentic traditional and very beautiful architecture, public and private onsen, superior quality of onsen water, view from the room, balcony, kitchen, downstairs lobby, staff. WiFi works fine. The building is wooden and old; the windows rattle in the wind, the floor creaks, etc. If you are afraid of ghosts, you might wonder at the noises the building makes at night. Best to use the public onsen for shaving and rituals in fornt of the mirror. Choice of squat or western toilet is nice. My favorite lodging in Japan, overall. If only the futon were a little softer.

Gorgeous historical ryokan with onsen!
This hotel is absolutely gorgeous. If you'd like to experience a traditional Japanese ryokan, this is definitely the one to choose. The building is about a century old and still has a lot of the original architecture. Plus, it comes with an onsen, which I definitely recommend trying at least once. Great service, very friendly staff (who can speak and understand English), and in a very nice area. Would stay here again...definitely recommend.

The only thing I didn't like it is that I've booked and pay by credit card and at the check-in they charge me an extra ”municipal tax fee”, it was written in handwrite on the paper and does not even looks official.

This is a great spot, with a beautiful view of the river to wake up to every morning. The staff were amazing and I had some wonderful conversations with them. The only problem I had is that I’m very allergy sensitive to mold and it is an old building, so that’s something to keep in mind if you’re sensitive, too. But otherwise, I highly recommend it!

This is the most fantastic spot. Ignore the hostel label, the only vaguely hostel aspect is how friendly the staff and other guests are. There’s free coffee and tea, and a wonderful setting. As everyone says, get a riverside room. Give yourself two nights and really relax.

Amazing ryokan-style building, with obvious history and charm. The onsen was a welcome amenity after a long trip and the staff was very helpful. The river view and calm atmosphere made this the perfect final stop for our trip!

Amazing Japanese Hot Spring Hotel
It was a beautiful traditional hot springs hotel. I was so amazed by the service and the space where we can relax. Highly recommend to anyone who is thinking of staying in Ito! You better stay here :)

There were beautiful, traditional touches throughout the building. The woodwork is particularly beautiful. Walking proximity to the train station and to shopping is also a plus.

This Ryokan Hostel combines the best of the two worlds. While you will not get a world class Kaiseki here, you get a wonderful onsen, traditional rooms and the ability to meet fellow travelers.

K’s House was absolutely wonderful! We checked in easily and had a private Japanese style room which was a first for us so it was great. We had a view of the river from our little sitting area which was beautiful. We also used the private onsen which you didn’t have to book in advance, and checked out the public (separate men and women) onsen a as well. They gave us great advice about what to do in the area and how to get around, and also had a lot of suggestions for restaurants in the area. One of the best places we stayed while in Japan and would definitely go back!

The place was totally awesome. The staff speaks English and they are really friendly and helpful with everything. They told us about a ramen place near by which was the best ramen We ever ate!!! Can’t wait to come back!

APEX OF HOSTEL STAY.
Very please. Very relaxing. No hustle No rush from pillar to posts. This is the 5star of hostel stay. Kudos to front office staff of MASAO, CHI, ERI n JACOPO. Lovely Japanese traditional hotel
Wonderful traditional hostel, all the family loved it! The futon on a tatami is not our thing, but overall it was a very nice stay. The only downside was not about the hostel but the beach that was full of garbage, the city should take care of that immediately!

As an older couple, we have not stayed in hostels for a long long time. We stayed at K's Hostel because of the online description and review of it. It did not disappoint. The building is beautiful. The onsen is a bit small, but the other common rooms are very comfortable. Except for the size of the bathroom, our room (a 5-futon room with ensuite bath) is not much different from traditional Japanese rooms in more expensive hotels. The hostel is close to the train/bus station.
