“Hotel with very close to Tourist Sites”
The hotel was a little tricky to find by a cab driver as its on a back road. However their are plenty of signs on the main road. As you enter the hotel its very clean. The staff were ok , However some were very unfriendly and i felt and some werent very helpful as they didnt speak english. Yes you have to pay for your Orange Juice 4TL i think, but they dont tell you that even though its there hidden by the o juice machine. Breakfast was Ok, Boiled eggs various Salami and cheese. I think you had to also pay for an omellete. Do not call from the hotel ever so expensive. The hotel is situated near the station (Tram) Gulhane iits about 45 seconds away. Its about 5 mins walk from the Blue mosque, Hagia Sofia etc. The Hotel was super clean and was ok with its atmosphere but i would overall definately recomend it to others.
“hotel prince”
Very friendly staff at check in.The hotel is very well located for the main tourist sites (Topkapi, Agia Sophia, Blue Mosque, etc.).It was very clean.
“ISTANBUL”
The hotel located in the heart of the old city center, the room was very clean and the staff was very helpfull.
“Excellent Choice, Mr. Bond!”
Price hotel has an excellent location. It,s a short and pleasant (5 minutes) walk to most of the highlights: Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, the cistern or the Archeological Museum. Galata Bridge with all it,s nice restaurants and bars is about 10 minutes walking (passing a McDonalds restaurant). However the surroundings of the hotel were just a little disappointing even though lots of shops and restaurants are available. Rooms are what they look like in the photos: comfortable, nicely decorated and clean. I suggest to take not the cheapest ones. Staff is kind, willing to help, even though few people speak English. Breakfast is good quality but we had to pay separately for eggs, orange juice or espresso coffee. The food we took in the bar (club sandwich) has to take the lowest rate. In all, Price hotel is an excellent choice.
“will go again and stay in same hotel”
Very good and central location, staff guest relation girl was very friendly and helpfull, If I go again I will stay in same hotel.
“Great stay”
A pleasant standard room and an excellent buffet breakfast with a wide choice (yes, fresh orange juice costs extra). Free wireless internet and free use of the lobby computer and printer (including paper). A standard laptop fits in the room safe. The staff were always helpful, and would make phone reservations for us. Very convenient for the tram, train station, and old town attractions.
“Highly recommended”
Clean hotel with good facilities and a staff eager to please. Within walking distance of topkapi, blue mosque, ferries etc and very handy for trams and station.
“Prince Hotel - excellent location, shame about the rest!”
The hotel accommodates organised tour groups and is totally geared to this group service. Coachloads of people being herded around are a nightmare in terms of service, noise, catering to the lowest common denominator. Coffee is Nescafe or some other instant concoction. The hotel is in Turkey. Where's the TURKISH coffee? The mournful violin music at breakfast would be enough to drive you to slit your throat if you were that way incliined! Every which way you turn, they are trying to charge you extra, be it a fresh orange juice for breakfast, a bottle of mineral waterr at breakfast or, unbelievably, tea and coffee (made by you with their tea/coffee) in the room! I have never come across anything like this in any hotel anywhere in the world and can only say it leaves a very sour, mean-spirited taste. Talking of prices .... a bottle of Turkish sauvignon blanc at 84 euro is nothing short of theft! Even the Conrad charges less than that for a lovely glass of wine in a beautiful setting on the 14th floor, with charming and quality service. Location is truly excellent as you are bang in the middle of the old town, with everything reachable on foot and excellent public transport options nearby should you need them. All in all, I think this hotel reinforces the idea that you should choose 3* when you really only need a pillow for a few nights in clean surroundings and 5* when you want a classy hotel. 4* increasingly falls between these two and does not really merit the price.
“NOT 4 STARS - Avoid Unless You're a Backpacker”
They've put new carpet in the rooms and the bathrooms are new, and it had wireless internet. Other than that, it was pretty much a dump, and they try to goudge you on the smallest things (e.g., getting orange juice at the breakfast that is included in the room, or asking for a map, as the hotel is on a tiny sidestreet). I've been to Istanbul 8 times and would absolutely not go back -- any of the Best Westerns in the area are MUCH better if you want to stay in the same "nice but not great" range. This was absolutely NOT a 4 star hotel. The best was when a driver, called by the hotel, couldn't break the bill I had, the front desk refused to give me or get change (or just pay the driver and bill it to the room), and left me to argue with the driver about where we could get change at midnight. It also bills itself as a "business hotel," but they have two computers, the printer didn't work, and they couldn't figure out how to use the scanner (which they wouldn't let me access, anyway, as it's in the back office). The beds are way too soft, too. In all, it's a pretty crap hotel.
“Dissapointed Visitor”
In booking this visit, I expected a swanky hotel with amenities to match; what I got was an unfriendly staff that over-charged for everything, from orange juice to a three minute use of the sauna. The room was comfortable but the stay was unpleasant, due to all the hidden charges I had to pay afterwords. I advise others to go somewhere else, in a less touristy area, where you actually get a feel for Istanbul and feel content.
