“Sweet spot at the end of the lane”
Stayed at the Kaftan for three nights and had a lovely time. Everyone on staff took very good care of us, the breakfast was simple and good and served in a splendid rooftop cafe overlooking the sea. I will stay there again and recommend it to you.
“Clean, Good location, Helpful Staff”
Good location; easy walking to major sights. The staff was friendly and helpful (with one exception: the guy who fell asleep and failed to do the wake-up call). A couple of neighboring properties were ill-kept, but we saw signs of neighborhood improvement. The room was small but clean and everything (including the wi-fi) worked. The roof top breakfast area was really nice as was the breakfast itself. Our room on the third floor allowed us to see over the top of unsightly neighbors to the sea; not sure what the view would be from lower floors.
“Best Hotel Economically & Locally”
I stayed six nights at this hotel and had a wonderful experience specially because of the location of the hotel as it is 3-4 minutes walk from most tourist attractions. Free breakfast and free internet are some of the amazing options we had there. We were specifically also allowed to use the breakfast hall to have our take away dinner there which was another out of the way service on our request. Both me and my mom were very happy with their service. I would strongly recommended this hotel to others.
“Touristy Istanbul on a Budget”
The Kaftan hotel is the perfect hotel to stay within walking distance to all of the tourist attractions that is reasonably priced. The hotel could use some maintenance, but overall was in decent shape. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and wanted to help. The breakfast terrace was spectacular!!! The breakfast was somewhat spartan, but filled me up. I will definately stay there again.
“Great location with helpful staff”
The location was great if you want a place near the main tourist attractions. The room on the top floor where breakfast is served can be accessed at all times during the day and is a great place to relax in the evening. It has a tremendous view of the Sea. The breakfast was more than adequate. Just expect a Turkish version of a continental breakfast. Staff spoke adequate English and were eager to please. Amenities are minimal, but the staff will work at meeting your requests. The rooms are clean, but worn. At most a 5 minute walk from the Blue Mosque and Haja Sofia. The Grand Bazaa is maybe 15 or 20 minutes walk. The restaurants are less "touristy" and a better deal the farther away you go from this district. There is a transit rail line half a block behind the hotel. If you are sensitive to noise, it could be a bother, but it seems not to run late at night (either that or we were sleeping too well to notice). There are many small hotels around the Kaftan. Although we would go back, we would probably make our final choice based on price and customer reviews.
“Location Great”
The location of this hotel is fantastic, can walk to most major attractions and lots of lovely resturants nearby. Downside, tiny rooms and paper thin walls and breakfast left a lot to be desired!
“Basic budget hotel in good location”
Location is great and for the right budget price I would recommend this hotel, but for those with limited expectations. WiFi spotty, bed hard, rooms Old, small with no amenities. Just a place to sleep. Air conditioning works but front desk controls it so must remind them to make it colder.
