“A very nice hotel”

The hotel is in very nice place , it is too near to taksim square anda horea st. you can take any tansportaion to any place in istanbul from taksim sq. , turki is a very beautiful country full with green spaces But there is a very big problem in the turkish people everywhere at airport , taxi , hotel , shopping centers , no one talks English or Arabic only torkish and this was a big problem

“Location Trumps other issues”

This is a very decent hotel--not luxury, but very decent. We picked it for location and because it has a swimming pool. Location was fabulous for our needs. Pool was small and cold, but also worked. The breakfast buffet was very impressive. The rooms are a little shabby, but comfortable. The promise of internet in the rooms was not fulfilled, despite having a technician come to our room several times. We sat in the lobby to check email, etc, which was fine and was kind of fun for people watching.

“Good hotel and location.”

Good value. Clean room and good location. What else does one want?

“Good but not excellent”

The only really big problem was some mold in the bathroom. The room smell like smoke a bit, but that was tolerable for Istanbul standard.

“Would Not Recommend”

Its not terrible, but not worth the money. The location is excellent. Its a quite area with nice restaurants and little shops. However it is problematic for taxis to pull up to this area. Walking distance to lively nightlife and more restaurants. Our room was large and had great windows. However the bathroom was terrible. There was so much mold, no ventilation, complementary toiletries partially used, towels terrible. Even though we put up the sign saying do not disturb that didn't stop house keeping. Front desk was not helpful and rather rude. I would not stay here again, but I would recommend the location for people looking for something do do at night. Do not listen to front desk that the only way to get around for tourists is taxi, there is a great metro and tram system that was easy to use.

“NOT IMPRESSED”

LOBBY OF Z HOTEL VERY IMPRESSIVE,BUT WHEN IT GETS TO STAFF MEMEBERS USELESS, NEVER ON TOP OF THINGS, ROOM WAS VERY DUSTY,AND EVERYTHING IN THE ROOM OLD, MY TEA KATTLE WAS DISCUSTING I ASKED TO HAVE IT CLEAN THEY SAID WIL GET U ANOTHER ONE AND DIDNT EVEN BOTHER AND GET ME ONE,CUPS WERE NOT CLEAN LOOKS LIKE THEY HAD WIPE THEM NOT FRESHLY WASHED, BEDS ARE COMFORTABLE AND SHEETS WERE CLEAN, ONLY THING I ADMIT ABOUT THIS HOTEL IS THERE BREAKFAST IT IS SO IMPRESSIVE TO A POINT WHERE U FORGET TO WATCH UR DIET, EVERYTHING WAS SO TEMPTING TO TASTE IT, VARIETY FOOD EXCELLENT, BUT OVERALL I WILL NOT GO AGAIN JUST COZ THEY HAD AN EXCELLENT BUFFET,

“Grand Oztanik... not grand at all!”

The rooms are very dated; the wallpaper in the rooms was made up of patched pieces where obvious repairs had been attempted. The windows did not close properly so the room was really cold and the air con/heating system did not work. Lots of noise came through from the streets with music and loud talking. The room cleaning was poor and our bins were not emptied on one occasion. On the fifth day i picked up my bags and found that the bottom was wet. The carpet was very wet where the shower had leaked though the walls into the bedroom area. We told reception of this problem but they could only offer us rooms elsewhere on different floors in the hotel, which was not convenient as our children were staying in the room next door. On the last day we asked if we could have late check out which they agreed but stated that we needed to exit, as they had to prepare the faulty room for new guests. The hotel was not clean; wallpaper was falling off the walls and was constantly being stuck back. The showers were all leaking and paint fell from the ceiling as you tried to wash. The pool was cold and you could not use the Turkish bath without booking a massage, which was ridiculously priced. Breakfast was not too bad although a variety or a change in menu would have been appreciated. The toast machine was broken and kept catching the toast, getting stuck and then burning. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and I would never stay there again. This was more like a 2 star hotel!
