“Thanksgiving in Turkey”
need better bathroom lighting difficult to shave or put in contacts. two lights but very dim. Excellent staff very helpful. Thanksgiving time was certainly cold for Turkey not what I expected
“Would stay again”
What a great boutique hotel that is perfectly located in the old city.Good helpful staff, comfortable rooms(bed a little hard) ,a fabulous view from balcony.
“Nice Hotel in Convenient neighborhood”
The hotel staff is very nice and friendly. The manager helped us trememndously when a taxi driver ripped us off. He came drove us to the Police Station and helped translate our issue to the cops. VERY VERY helpful. The Breakfast was freshly prepared with a lot of variety. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The only issue is that the water is not very hot. Not a big deal, though. There is a minifridge in the room and lots of space. The hotel is walking distance from ALL the historical sites and the Grand Bazaar. Highly recommend this hotel.
“ok”
ok hotel . would not use again
“Do not trust”
We wanted to keep two single beds, however the statement was only "standard room with twin or double", and it was ambiguous to keep twin, so that we kept "triple room with three beds", even it was more expensive, and we paid by credit card. Actually we were introduced small standard room with twin beds, and no refund for the differece due to triple room and standard room.
“Overrated and Overpriced”
The Erguvan is not a bad hotel and is well located. But it certainly doesn't deserve its alleged 4-star rating and is somewhat overpriced. We stayed at a cheaper hotel in Istanbul 9 days earlier (the Hotel Seraglio), which was cheaper and much better--better and friendlier service, more amenities available and probably a better location. The woman we dealt with at the front desk was OK but far less friendly and outgoing than the many wonderful Turkish people we dealt with at other hotels in the country.
“Brilliant for those who are there for Istanbul's history as we were.”
Erguvan Hotel was in THE best position for using our days to the max. No transport required other than plenty of walking energy. Everything we wanted to see was in walking distance, plus a Bosphorus boat trip to see the rest! We'd asked for a 3 bed room ... it was VERY cramped in Room 117 for 3 but beds were comfy and we weren't in there for long. Shower was strong, but shower walls were inadequate. Breakfasts were great and set us up for the day. Lovely views from the balcony of the eating area. Staff were extremely helpful and this was appreciated. Internet access good. For the old quarters of Istanbul, don't think the siting of this hotel could be bettered. I will recommend this hotel to anyone I know who is travelling to Istanbul!
“This is a one star hotel at best!”
I had a terrible experience with the staff and location of the room. The room was very noisy and the staff refused to change the room. I would not recommend this hotel.
“Very Good Hotel Money Can Buy”
Hotel is very good location, in the heart of Sultanahmet area, condition of hotel was fair good however it's not on western standards, but still good hotel. We early checked-in with no extra charge, they gave us wireless internet access it was good most of the time. The breakfast was amazing every morning. The hotel was clean overall, but we missed water boiler in the rooms, A/C wasn't working very good, the seaview room wasn't that big we thought and it's far away from the sea.
“Sweet Vacation”
We enjoyed our stay at Erguvan Hotel. It was in the city centre of Istanbul & within walking distance to most of the mosques, bazaars, shops, restaurants & other historical monuments. The hotel was close to the Sea of Marmara & the sea can be seen clearly from our hotel restaurant on the top floor. The Blue Mosque was visible from the top floor as well. The staff was very friendly, accomodating & helpful. Our room was cleaned regularly, we got fresh towels daily. The hotel's theme is ecclectic & homey. The breakfast buffet was good. The lady at the front desk even took the time to explain the city map to us; she recommended where we ought to go & which places to visit during our trip. Istanbul is one of our favourite cities & this hotel made it possible for us to cherish & enjoy our time there! Thank you!
