“Unique Location Dara Hotel”

Excellent front desk staff, very helpful english speaking with great turkish accent! Breakfast on the Terrace is excellent with very friendly service oriented staff.

“Impressed”

We had booked Hotel Dara at the last minute, as we decided to come to Istanbul only the day before. The entire process was smooth. When we arrived, several hours before check in, we were invited in, ushered to our room, served coffee and tea on the house (on the rooftop), and treated to the lovely buffet breakfast (also on the rooftop). The hospitality was truly incredible and everyone was extremely kind and helpful. Our room was small, but very clean and perfectly adequate for our wants and needs. We didn't need anything extravagant as we planned to be in our hotel little and out on the town more, so this was perfect for a low maintenance traveler who needed a place to sleep and breakfast. Due to the quality of the hotel service, its cleanliness, its location and its simultaneous affordability we were extremely satisfied with the hotel. Thank you!!!

“Great location”

They were friendly without being over the top. Any minor issues promptly dealt with. One incentive was the offer to pick up and drop off at airport if booking for a week. That happened although we did need to remind them. Location was excellent.

“Best hotel in Istanbul”

What an unexpected treasure this is, right in the heart if Istanbul. Within walking distance of the Blue Mosque, Agia Sophia, The Basilica Cistern and the Grand Bazaar, this recently renovated hotel was a great place to stay. The price was cheap for the three of us, the complimentary buffet breakfast was wonderful, and the staff always eager to serve. Five stars!

“LocationLocationLocation!Fab staff,Rooftop dining!”

WOW! Loved it! What a great position in this amazing City!We stayed on the 2nd floor,with a double bed & 2 single beds (Room 7) & you could open the window.It has fantastic views towards the Port,overlooked a Mosque & also a few hundred year old Mosque relic.It snowed whilst there & the room was cosy & warm.We had neighbours on the first night who were loud but with 'normal' voices instead of loud laughter etc it was quite okay. Restaurants were a quick few minutes walk.It was very safe walking around at night & didn't need the hire car.It didnt move for 2 days only to go back to the airport! Blue Mosque we walked to in around 7mins & that was with two kids! Hotel is on a very steep road(a bit like the hills of San Fran if you are familiar with them). The hotel has a spiral,dimly light staircase(in our section) but that would be my only complaint but ONLY if I had an issue with stairs. Pre-request the other side of the hotel that has a very small elevator or 'normal' stairs prior to arrival would not be a problem (I think). Hotel staff were very accommodating & knowledgeable having a great command of the English language.They knew exactly what we would want to see. Restaurant is on the roof & has amazing views.Complimentary breakfast 'spread' was bread,olives,yoghurt,fruits,jams,salads,pastries,coffee etc. We 'scored' this hotel as the 40% off 'lottery' with Expedia & would actually look and select this hotel as a preferred hotel for us if going back.It was so great.

“Great value!”

Very friendly and professional staff; hotel is in a great location, walking distance to main attractions. The only thing is that there is a mosque right next door so you may be woken up at 5am but by the second night we got used to it. Great value for money.

“Clean and friendly”

I am giving the hotel a 4 for its class - not a 4 out of 5 in best hotels. The hotel was clean but the room was the smallest we have had anywhere (and we have been to Europe at least 18 times). The staff was always friendly. Especially noteable was breakfast atop the hotel with a terrific staff there. Food was plentiful and fresh.

“Ideal for its location in the old city, helpful staff and value for money”

The staff at this hotel could not have bee more obliging or hospital and this added great value to our stay. Nothing too much trouble. Turkish and apple tea served gratis all day on the terrace (with splendid view of mosque and Marmara Sea). Huge range of delicious breakfast food presented with pride and charm. Our room was small but spotless, with comfortable beds. The only gripe with this particular room was the small bedroom window and a bathroom window looking out onto air con units (occasionally noisy), fire escape and wall in close proximity. This side of the hotel appears to be dedicated to twin bedded rooms. However, this would definitely not put us off returning to the hotel. We had a great stay.

Clean, large newly renovated washroom, air conditioned , friendly and very helful receptionist and manager, good location, reasonable price
