“I'd go back”
Bad: 1. Shower small, small and hard in and out. A very large person would have trouble.(some mold) 2. Lenins on bed too small (no overhang) and towels really worn. Good: 1. Location - fantastic 2. service great 3. people very helpful and friendly 4. In spite of bad above, i'd go bad 5 . food great (breakfast) Rating of **** is misleading. It should be ** or *** (but a great ** or ***)
“Amazing Istanbul location for the tourist”
We have traveled to Istanbul multiple times and have tried many hotels. The Antea is the best of the best. Locations is wonderful. Two long blocks to the Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia and the Basilica. Three blocks the other direction to the Covered Market. Tram is located at the top of the same block and will easily take you to the other known sites such as Istiklal Caddesi and Taksim square. Nice local Kebap restaurant within easy walking distance and a very nice 5 star hotel restaurant next door. Reception staff speak good english and are great help to someone who needs advice. We have found a home in Istanbul and will definitely return here.
“Decent hotel in an excellent location”
A decent hotel with a good breakfast in an excellent location. Convenient to all major attractions of Sultanahmet district. Public transit is also easily accessible. Only major shortcoming was room size, especially as a triple, and ineffective air conditioning.
“Great location/good value/tiny rooms”
Great location with easy access to Istanbul's excellent transport system. However, rooms are unusually small and bathrooms require dexterity to get in and out of shower. Staff very friendly but have difficulty communicating in English. Knowledge of Turkish language basics would have made stay more enjoyable. Overall, hotel is a great value.
“well located”
it is a well located hotel and very near to the tramvay but with a very poor service and staff. The hotel couldn't manage to provide me a drop to the airport although i have booked it before 2 days. the breakfast was not good and beds were not comfartable. no welcome to the new guests.
“Hotel did not meet our expectations”
The Antea Hotel did not meet our expectations. Wallpaper hanging off of walls. cabinet in front of our door had to be closed in order to open our door, two single beds, room needed some attention to detail.
“Can't wait to go to another place”
The hotel was a 4-star hotel. I checked a nearby hotel that is a 2-star hotel and it's almost the same hotel but with a different price. This means the hotel in my rating is a 2-star hotel not 4. The hotel was clean and tidy. On the other hand, there was not much space in the room. I chose a triple room and it was the same size as a double room except for one more bed that was put in between the beds. You could combine the tree beds easily and make them a super king size bed. Moreover, the breakfast was a breakfast for a 2-star hotel as I mentioned.
“Not impressed”
Quality of this Hotel is very poor, Air conditioning did not work appropriately, In the rooms was very hot. TV was broken . We commented about these issues to Administrator twice without any corrective action. Poor support in terms of tours information. Brekfast very poor
“It's not an hotel - it's an endurance test!”
I booked a double room and was given a twin with two small, hard beds. It was number 302. The shower/toilet was incredible, just TINY! So small, you cannot even open the door. Getting in and out of the shower for a 6ft 4 in person is best described as dangerous. The TV - 19 channels in Turkish, no other language channels. Very hard to sleep. Noise comes from next door, the street and the corridor. The air con has two modes, "Hot and quiet" or "cool and noisy". Either way, you cannot get to sleep. After 2 nights, I moved to 305. A double bed (the mattress is 6 inches smaller than the bed base(?!) A slightly bigger room, but still small. Bathroom slightly bigger, you CAN open the door to this one. The TV has 26 channels, some in other languages (so why not in all rooms?) This room looked out onto a dark central alley. Turkish music came out - rather loudly from about 10 30 to 11 00 pm, so I could not sleep. Then some jolly Turkish chap telephoned my room after midnight and woke me up - wrong room number, but he still woke me up. Air con is the same as the other room, "hot and quiet" or "noisy and cool". The bedroom light switch - NOW GET THIS - Is built into the bed's headboard! Yes, really (see photo) This means, that as you turn over in bed, you get to switch the lights on!!!! I managed it 3 times, waking myself up each time!!! Oh what great fun. (Just Bizarre!)
