“It was okay but a little expensive”
The hotel was okay and I was comfortable. Unfortunatly, for the price asked and the service provided, I was annoyed that everything extra had hidden charges. I had stayed at a few hotels this trip and found cheper hotels with better service and all extras included in the price. But overall, it was a pleasant stay and a very clean and comfortable hotel. I would prefer to find a hotel where all extra's are included and not be stung by hidden charges when checking out. It was a means to an end and I am not completely unhappy.
“REMOTE LOCATION POOR MAINTENANCE”
EXCELLENT ROOM SERVICE (MEALS) ONE DAY, AND AVERAGE THE NEXT. POOR MAINTENANCE OF THE BATHROOM, SPECIALLY SHOWER. BEDS WERE CLEAN BUT WC COULD DEFF IMPROVE. AGAIN FOR HK STANDARDS ABOUT AVERAGE.
“Good mid-range hotel”
This hotel was fine to stay in. It was clean, in a very quiet area and comfortable enough. The service wasn't great -it took a while to check in and out noone helped you with your bags or opeened the door for you or hailed you a cab. Not the end of the world, obviously, but different from service elsewhere. They also took a deposit up front in case you used the minibar or shuttle bus, which I thought was a bit annoying, particularly because I knew I wouldn't be using either of those things. All in all though it's certainly not the worst place I've stayed in in Hong Kong, but certainly not the best either.
“Surprisingly pleased”
We got a corner room on the 14th floor. When we first walked in, we were all "wow"! The room is so spacious. It's much bigger than a regular hotel room in HK; more like what we are used to in the US. There is plenty of space for our luggage. The window sill can fit like 5 or 6 suite cases, leaving the floor space entirely open for my toddlers to run around. The double double beds are also a good size, like queen beds. They are movable, so together they can easily fit five adults. The bathroom is plain but not too run down. The staff is friendly, which is pretty much a required standard to meet given the competition in HK. There is free shuttle service to nearby train Shatinstation which connects to subway. We will want to stay in this hotel again, specifically in the room we stayed in. I am glad I chose this hotel. A much better option over a hotel in the more central areas for a family with 3 adults and 2 kids, yet still very close to shopping malls and restaurants, and less expensive.
“Good neighorhood for exercise”
Although this hotel is a bit far from the main shopping area (s.a. women's street), it only takes 25 minutes by bus or 15 minutes by train. It's next to a river where you can run/walk and a park where you can exercise and enjoy the clean air. We like the quiet environment of the hotel, we stayed in other town hotels that were very noisy. Shatin is a town by itself, you can find almost everything you need within a few mintues walk. Also on the bus line that can bring you to different locations. Hotel provided shuttle to the airport, costs HK$130 per person, a regular taxi will cost around HK $250, so if you have 2 or more people in your group, consider taxi.
“Sha Tin”
Seems to be a very popular place for overnight for tour groups but not a problem except if you have to check in or out with them. This is a very nice probably 4 star hotel but but have to take the metro system to get to Sha Tin and the hotel is about a mile away. Hotel has a shuttle, or taxi is cheap. Also bus 284 has stops outside of hotel and mall with metro station but would have to ask direction to fine first time. You can also take bus 49x ?directly to Hong Kong airport. There is also a bus from airport to Sha Tin. Didnt see any western food places around the hotel and didn't eatat hotel except for the Moon River? cafe in the same building 1st floor for breakfast but wasn't western. The mall probably has a McDonalds but never looked for it. Sha tin seem to be nice place. Hotel has excellent gym, not sure I looked at the swimming pool. Price good compared to Hong Kong. Staff always helpful and friendly
“OK, but be careful with the Internet service”
I was in HK for a conference held in the close Chinise University. The hotel is very good from many points of view, and the location was OK for me because I could reach various places in HK by the cheap metro (a metro station is 600-700 meters far from the hotel). The only black point (and when I say black I mean dark) has been the Internet service. They tell you that the maximum charge per day is 180HK$ (around 18 EUR), depending on your actual connection time, but then short connections lasting a few minutes already get very close to the maximum cost. This is not reasonable. So, I ended paying 50 EUR for 5 to 10 minutes of connection over 4 days.
“price are up by 20% after remodeling (relative to last year of the same period) otherwises I have no”
Nice hotel. Good and attendative service. A little far-off from the city. Expected crowd of tour groups in the lobby or elevators during early evening. Should seperate and assigned different floors to tour groups differ that of regular tourists.
“spacious and inexpensive, easily accessible to buses and MTR stations.”
Overall, I was happy with the hotel. The rate is reasonable and the staff is kind and patient. The rooms are clean and spacious. (some are stained because of ages).
“Love this hotel”
The hotel was cleaned and newly remodeled. I was upgraded to the top floor. It's very convenience to take any route of the buses to anywhere. Free shuttle is provided every half an hour to the train station and city of Sha Tin. Staff were nice and helpful. The airport bus only costs HK$21.00 right in front of the hotel. A lot of tourist from mainland China though. The talked very loud over the hallway and lobby. Very often they visited each others room. For the price and the cleanliness, I will stay in this hotel again!
