“Good neighorhood for exercise”

Although this hotel is a bit far from the main shopping area (s.a. women's street), it only takes 25 minutes by bus or 15 minutes by train. It's next to a river where you can run/walk and a park where you can exercise and enjoy the clean air. We like the quiet environment of the hotel, we stayed in other town hotels that were very noisy. Shatin is a town by itself, you can find almost everything you need within a few mintues walk. Also on the bus line that can bring you to different locations. Hotel provided shuttle to the airport, costs HK$130 per person, a regular taxi will cost around HK $250, so if you have 2 or more people in your group, consider taxi.

“Great Value for the Money”

This is the third time I stay at this hotel in two years. The rooms are large compared to other hotels in the city, and the rates are reasonable. The hotel lobby may be crowded and noisy during morning check-out and afternoon check-in times as the hotel accommodates large number of tour groups. The housekeeping staff was very courteous and had tried to be helpful. One complain I had was the in-room refrigerator that did not keep its contents cold. Apparently the refrigerator needed major repair or simply a replacement. After four complains to the housekeeping staff and the front desk, the problem was still not resolved. At one point I thought if I wanted to have a working refrigerator was to switch to another room. Did not do that because I did not want to pack and unpack again. So I stayed in the same room with a non-working refrigerator for my entire 13-night stay (YES, 13 nites!). Other than this, everything else was OK as any other hotel should be. And, for the price I paid, this hotel is of great value. I am currently planning another visit to HK and this hotel is on my list.

“Best Hotel For The Price”

Best value for the price. The only problem is being far from airport and downtown Hong Kong, about 1 hour to each.

“Hotel in a Quiet Setting”

Unlike most other hotels in HK, this one sits in a quiet neighborhood by the river in the satellite city of Shatin. There are biking and jogging paths along the river bank that one can use to unwind after a hectic day in the big city. The room was big by HK hotel standards. Other than the King-sized bed, my room has two easy chairs and a round leisure table facing the window, in addition to the desk area and a desk chair. With all these furnitures there is still plenty of rooms for me to maneuver around with my luggages. There are plenty of drawers in the closet and by the door. Like most of the other hotels in HK at this time, a large portion of the hotel patrons are group visitors from Mainland China. Many of them are accustomed to have loud conversations in public areas. This is what some Westerners travelling in HK will need to get used to. Nonetheless, this is a great hotel and I will return next time when I visit HK.

“Good except the annoying noise from renovation”

Deluxe room is big and clean, service is excellent. However, the hotel is under major renovation and drilling noise starts from 9am to 6pm. Water is shut off for 2 days (during the day time) of my stay, that means there is no water flushing for the toilet and no hot water for the shower. The hotel should give deep discount for these major and annoying inconvenience.

“A good place to stay to avoid the crowd”

Hotel room is roomy and beds are comfortable. Far away from the city center to avoid the crowd and yet convenient enough to travel to different places in Hong Kong.

“Great hotel, but the charge for wifi”

Great location and great room. Only one complaint: they still charge me for wifi I the Rome. Come on,in this day and age. Granted I can get free wifi at the lobby, buy why? It left bitter taste in my mouth.

“Excellent and price-reasonable hotel”

room is clean and comfortable. our room has a wonderful river view. staff are friendly and helpful. I strongly recommend anyone to visit this superb hotel. It is definitely four star hotel. Next time I will book it again. This is my second time to accommodate in it. I am sure our room is newly decorated. I am completely satisfied to this lovely hotel.

“A great place to stay”

There were a few things in the room that really needed some maintenance. I also had to phone housekeeping for a plug for the bath. Really liked the staff.

“Good mid-range hotel”

This hotel was fine to stay in. It was clean, in a very quiet area and comfortable enough. The service wasn't great -it took a while to check in and out noone helped you with your bags or opeened the door for you or hailed you a cab. Not the end of the world, obviously, but different from service elsewhere. They also took a deposit up front in case you used the minibar or shuttle bus, which I thought was a bit annoying, particularly because I knew I wouldn't be using either of those things. All in all though it's certainly not the worst place I've stayed in in Hong Kong, but certainly not the best either.
