“Nice harbor view”

WiFi connection is weak and hard to get online even though it is not free. Very nice harbor view from room but surrounding neighborhood is not so decent.

“Excellent Club Room”

We paid the extra money for the Club Room and were very happy. Gloria was a very helpful hostess who added something extra to the experience. Take care with in-room Internet service. We were told that it was included in the upgrade, but then they tried to charge us extra because we used multiple devices. Poor form I thought. They ended up not charging us but it left a slightly sour taste on what was otherwise a great experience.

Area recommendations
Mid level near the elevator. Plenty of bars and restaurants.

“Wow!”

From the front desk staff to the waiters, from the concierge desk to the breakfast servers, our stay was phenomenal. Everyone went out of their way to make us feel welcome and to ensure that our stay was as pleasant as possible. I was recommended this hotel by a friend and am so very grateful to them for it. Cannot recommend the Harbour Grand enough as a home away while in Hong Kong.

“High Class & Comfort Close to the Metro”

All the facilities and services worked great at the Harbour Grand. We were however disappointed to find that the pool was closed for renovation since that was one of the deciding factors when choosing the hotel. Also at this room rate we expected free internet access.

Area recommendations
Causeway Bay and SoHo for restaurants and night life. Granville Road for unique shopping.

“Pleasantly surprised”

The interior design of the room was superior, with convenient features and great finishes. The bed was comfortable and importantly the blinds blocked out the light very effectively. Particularly liked the rainfall shower and the internet connectivity speeds. We would recommend the Harbour Club upgrade as the buffets at breakfast as well as cocktails hour were terrific. The staff were courteous as is expected in Hong Kong, but we were surprised at how we were recognised and remembered during our visit.

Area recommendations
Causeway Bay, because of the hustle and bustle of the neighbourhood and the convenient location close to all shopping districts.
Getting around
Bite the bullet and buy the Octopus Card, as it saves money and time buying single tickets.

“It was OK”

The hotel was Ok. Not very impressed. We stayed at executive level but the room was small, it is not as big as they said on the webside.

Area recommendations
HK is a very small place. Just chose the hotel close to your destination and subway.
When to go
Don't go there in the summer it will be very hot. It is an expensive place. A lot of western people like to go to HongKong. If you already there why don't you just go to China to see the really Chinese culture, it is more cheaper.

“shame about the breakfast”

Lovely hotel, beautiful views, farcical breakfast. Each morning brought the wrong order...when we FINALLY could manage to order. Had to ask for a cup of tea three times; reminiscent of a scene from "Fawlty Towers". When we did finally eat/drink the tea was cols and the food quality poor. Otherwise very good. Would not recommend hotel as one shouldn't have to put up with such service...other hotels are just as good for the price.

“Not to be missed”

This is a 'not to be missed' hotel. Slightly out of the way but only a 2-minute walk to the MTR and Island trams. Try and get on the Club Floors (33-40) and you get breakfast, afternoon tea and cocktail hour in the Club Lounge on the 41st floor. Free internet access and wireless access in the Club Lounge too. We weren't told this prior to arriving, only that wireless access was available in our room at a cost. However, the hotel was fantastic and we loved it. Room service (we only used it to obtain ice) was very quick and the system of lights which told staff we were not to be disturbed or make up our room was very impressive. The lifts were a bit slow in coming, but as we were on holiday there was no rush to get up or down. The immediate area is not too flash, but it's all a bit of fun anyway. A bit of construction work going on right below the hotel (no noise) which is fascinating to watch - land extension into the harbour. The chandeliers in the foyer are stunning - and the staff everywhere were smiling and helpful. Recommend this hotel to anyone.

Area recommendations
Close to Happy Valley - hop on a tram and ding dong your way slowly along. Stanley market is fun too - catch the No 6 bus as it goes over the hills, not through and if you're upstairs and have a window open, you take your chances with the trees whipping past. Mid-levels escalator is an experience - down until 10am in the morning and upwards thereafter. You can go all the way up and then walk down to the Peak Tram. It was very very crowded when we went - but then we've not been there since 1995 when there wasn't the queues, so things have changed a lot. Find out from your hotel (if possible) when the peak periods are - and avoid them.

“Great value”

I travel five or six times a year to Hong Kong, en route to Shenzhen. I've stayed in many different hotels in many parts of Hong Kong. The Harbour Grand is one of my favorites because, for what I feel is important, it offers one of the best overall values I can find. The rooms themselves are nice enough, clean and quiet with a good TV and comfortable bed. The gym has several newer treadmills, some weights and other cardio equipment- it's above average. The location is just a little outside of the center of things, but it's only a couple of blocks from the metro so this has never been an issue for me. There are also a number of restaurants nearby. It is not the nicest hotel I've stayed at, but it is very good, and usually costs quite a bit less than many other comparable hotels with a slightly better location.

Area recommendations
I love to wander around and eat dinner in the midlevels area, in Soho or Lan Kwai Fong.

“Best Breakfast Spread Anywhere!”

I had the most fantastic stay at the Harbour Grand Hong Kong. I was upgraded to a suite at check-in. Absolutely amazing views of the Harbour. The breakfast spread at the hotel is definitely the best breakfast I have had anywhere, and I travel 50% of the year for work and stay in 5 Star hotels. I would not hesitate to book further stays at this hotel. The hotel is very close to the MTR - probably 3-4 min walk.

Area recommendations
Causeway Bay - convenient for shopping, and cheaper than the more central hotels. Still very close to everything either via the MTR or taxi.
