“Will stay there on my next visit to Hoi An”
We arrived very late, but the receptionist was still there to meet us with a delicious passion fruit juice and a smile on her face. The building is a not too big and the architecture follows old Vietnamese architecture, fitting perfectly well in the landscape. The choice of design in the main building (where you have breakfast) and in the rooms is very simple but beautiful, lots of attention to detail. We especially loved the little Vietnamese legands that were left every night on our bed as a bedtime story. Great touch! Although the hotel is not in the center of town, they have a free shuttle service (during pre-determined hours, otherwise you can pay $2 a person to go into town when you wish) and free bicycles. We cycled everyday enjoying the wonderful scenary of the Hoi An countryside and adjoining villages. We even rode our bikes out to the beach, and that was also a wonderful experience. Although the hotel itself is already worthwhile, what made the experience simply incredible were the staff: warm, welcoming and ready to help with anything. We even decided to splurge on a Vietnamese massage at the hotel's SPA and loved it. We will definitely be going back given that we live in Hanoi.
“A chance to relax on the river in the country”
Very pleasant staff,helpful and courteous.SHuttle service into HOi An convenient and taxis easy to access for four dollars.Breakfast was good with lots of variety.Enjoyed use of free bikes for traveling to the beach and pool and covered river deck were both very nice.Would gladly stay at ancient house river no.2 again(on bathe river)
“Supurb Hotel in Great Location.”
The Staff were amazing, helpful, kind and always smiling. Pool was lovely and clean, room was spacious and well presented. Breakfast was nice including the standard of the western food, although we try to avoid western food on holidays. Free Shuttle bus and bicycles were very handy. Pros: Staff, room amenities,pool and location of hotel. Cons: pool deck could use a little attention but this is no reason not to stay here. An excellent experience in Hoi An. An amazing city...
“Quiet Oasis”
This is a very quiet and comfortable hotel. The cleanliness and upkeep of the hotel was first class and i have stayed in better rated hotels that are inferior to this hotel. Ancient House River is a 20 minute bike ride from town and about 15 minutes to the coast beaches and if you are not that energetic the free bus shuttle was very handy. I am amazed that people would pick fault with this hotel. The Manager, Mihn went out of his way to make all welcome and ensure that my stay was enjoyable.
“Great Service and quiet location”
The staff at Ancient River cannot do enough to please you and they are very helpful The breakfast buffet is OK. We took the cooking clas which was very good. The location is the only drawback - as its a $ 4 taxi fare to town or you can catch the free shuttle at approx hourl;y intervals. Try to get more info on local tours from a travle agency as this and all hotesl seem to do their own versions.
