The property was on the flat with good parking and a comfortable, clean bed. The kitchen was lacking in utensils and crockery, e.g. no bowls for cereal, no breadboard, no vegetable knife, etc. We would have appreciated a good quality toilet paper and toilet paper holder and not the public toilet type dispenser with very thin paper that was provided. Also, it would have been helpful to have a welcoming information folder in the room. There was nothing.

Amazing accommodation and excellent service, the only downfall was the partying and fighting next door, close to bedroom windows. I believe it was seperate accommodation for emergency housing.

It was a clean room and nice and spacious. However the shampoo dispenser was empty. So need to be more efficient in checking these. Also, I think it’s important for them to inform guests that some of the motel is emergency housing. It didn’t impact our stay but some guests may find this an issue.

Was central location. The receptionist was friendly and clear on details. The room was very clean and roomy. The kitchen was very adequate.The bathroom was also spacious. The bed was very comfortable.

My first interaction on arrival at the property was a rather scary looking intoxicated male asking me if he could have my bottle of milk that reception had given me on check in! The room was clean but there were some obvious maintenance issues. My biggest complaint was a group of people coming back to the room next door at 1am and partying hard until around 4am! I called reception as soon as it started and they said they would talk to them, but nothing changed. My family was a bit freaked out by the whole experience so we decided to check out a day earlier. Wasn’t great.

Went to run a bath when we got there and the tub had grime all around it, went to reception and got a cloth and spray to clean it myself. Ran the bath and went to put the jets on and it was just spitting out with hair and dirt. Everything else was dirty aswell. Asked for a refund he said yes will give partial refund in the morning, went in the next morning he said he can’t do a refund.

Unfortunately people staying at this property were very noisy talking and singing very loud the entire night. It seems that some of the guests have lived there for a long time, which creates an atmosphere of insecurity since they feel in control of the place.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! This motel is mostly being used as temporary housing for people. I left after 15mins and went and stayed somewhere else. It is shocking that this motel is still offering rooms on a night by night basis.

Clean and comfortable. The only negative there was a lot of noise from other people staying there and someone knocked on the door at 6.30 am and woke everyone up.

First impression
Shower fixture was loose could not use it at all but informed hotel manager. Affordable stay one night is good but the room to close to road and noisy wouldn't be suitable if longer stay. Overall was great.

Staff were lovely. Room was average. Carpet needs a deep clean. My feet were black from walking on the carpet! I ended up washing the kitchen floor as it was disgusting. There are people living in some rooms and they are very inconsiderate to anyone else staying there. Slamming doors, shouting at each other using vile language at all hours of the night and their kids go around knocking on doors and run around the car park (directly outside the rooms) until MIDNIGHT! Staff were onsite when this was happening and they didn’t do anything about it. Really want my money back. Please read all the low rated reviews as they tell the truth! Don’t waste your money here.

Room was excellent and clean and exactly what we requested We had apartment 1 which is the closest to the road - lot of road noise, people stood outside our room (on the footpath) talking until the early hours.

We were travelling from out of town and stayed one night to do some shopping in Hamilton. Me , my wife And our 1 year old daughter. We were shocked on arrival that most rooms were occupied by clients from ministry of social welfare. Outside our room was littered in smoke buds on the ground. The in the next room over was sitting outside smoking. The entire night we didnt get any sleep, due to people playing loud music, in rooms and in cars, slamming doors, yelling, kids running up and down outside our room at 10pm till early hours of the morning. Then around 5am someone knocked on our demanding money. But we never opened the door. We were close to packing our bags and leaving but since it was one night just put up with it. We actually stayed here some 5 or 6 years ago and had pleasant stay. I understand covid has put pressure on businesses but you should not have full paying customers staying alongside rift raft like what we saw. We will never ever return! The room was reasonably clean and spacious as the only reasonable comments we can make.

The nice fine clean friendly experience was marred by MSD guests who were thoughtless, noisey, abusive, shocking, smoking. Police involved after the 3rd day of discontent.

Arriving back to the motel in the late afternoon there was a physical fight which resulted in two people being arrested with the police onsite for approx 1 hour, and subsequent follow up visits during the evening which made me feel safer. I would not stay here alone. I was relieved our unit was towards the front as I did not have to pass those involved in the violence. The unit was as pictured. Very clean and spacious. I feel for management during this difficult year and wish them all the best, however it was the public who called the police.

Won’t be back. Terrible stay. Police, constant noise - cars coming and going all night, loud occupants. Obviously providing temp accommodation. Hygate should not be offering to provide any accommodation to paying public if their hotel is full of the current cliental.

I was disappointed, there was a smell in the room, the TV remote didn't work, the heat pump didn't work and the towels looked old. And the noises that kept coming and going all night from other people, from what looked like, are living there, was too much. Got no sleep! wouldn't stay there again.
