Nice hotel in a great location. The hotel fully matched my expectationsof a 5-start business hotel but Internet. Attemps to charge funny money for Internet look not very wise.
“Happy in Hamburg”
Having worked in Hamburg this time it was nice to take a recreational visit and the Marriott whilst not the cheapest scores because sights are either within easy walking distance or accessible by public transport. If going room only as we did there are plenty of coffee shops nearby for the morning. A 'Hamburg Card' can be bought in the hotel and for just over 5 Euros person per day gave us unlimited transport by bus, tube, train and ferry plus discount on attractions. What set the hotel apart was the genuine friendliness of the staff and a quiet quality room. A Marriott can be a bit hit or miss, this one is definitely the former. Do not forget to get a map from the front desk and the concierge is pretty helpful too.

The Marriott Hotel is in a great central location near the lake and all the main shopping areas. Recommend 'Die Bar' for food and drinks which is just around the corner from the hotel. Also Ciu's Die Bar is a great upmarket bar with good music. Restaurants in Hamburg tend to be fully booked at weekends, do your research and book in advance.

The special family room deal was exceptional value. Although the standard hotel rate was beyond our budget, the special family room deal we used worked out so much cheaper than if we had booked into a budget hotel for the whole family. It's like being provided with first class facilities but charged economy class. I would definitely recommend it to everyone family travelling on a budget.
