Change of location for school holidays
We came to stay here to get away from home for the holidays but where we could still work when necessary. It was a very relaxing time away with a lovely outlook and peaceful location. Walking distance to a fishing spot and the dog loved swimming in the river. Kitchen is well appointed, and the balcony is a great space for a workout, making lego or doing emails. A great spot for a family getaway!

Peaceful and cosy getaway
Beautiful little home on the hill. Peaceful and quiet area, surrounded by nature and amazing views. The house has everything you need, very well stocked and very comfortable. Close to walking tracks and Wisemans Ferry. My two dogs came along and enjoyed the big deck. It’s an extra little bonus allowing pets to stay as well. We will be back for sure! Loved it

Worst Stayz experience ever
I would like to say it’s a shame the pictures of the property on Stayz do not represent the actual condition of the house and garden now…false and misleading representation to unsuspecting people wanting a getaway for a weekend…to say I am disappointed at the cleanliness of this house is an understatement…this house is in need to a super deep clean and decluttering and major maintenance…it was raining over the weekend and the gutters were over flowing probably due to the gutters being backed with leaves..it’s actually quite sad how many things need to be done…kitchen bench tops stained with mould …ceiling fans are filthy…the filthy cloth on the chairs and the chairs themselves are very stained the table and table cloth covered in mould outside the lounge room on the balcony is utterly unacceptable…the larger awning has chairs with holes and tears in them…the power point held onto the wall with sticky tape..the downstairs outside balcony is just full of rubbish…the smell in the laundry and living areas when we came into the house was over powering and also the smell when you open the kitchen cupboards is super bad …from what I have read on previous pages in the visitors book it is an ongoing issue…the holes in the top balcony floor would definitely be a serious insurance claim if anyone was hurt…just putting a grate over it is not good enough…nails protruding from the balcony floor ..the tea towel left in the kitchen had the smell of being left in the washing machine to dry…bathroom towels were no better…glad I brought my own towels and tea towels the musty smell was overpowering..and the stairs to enter the premises are super dangerous as previously stated by the 87 year old a few pages back in the visitors book, the stairs are very challenging to use…it almost like by you not informing people of the stairs, when you arrive at your accommodation and are unable to climb the stairs you would you have to forgo the money you paid…I have Menieres which affects my hearing and my balance I could only make the trip up my husband has had heart surgery and had to do the trips up and down..front landing is unstable and the large rock near the landing is very loose..visitors book stating people paid for 3 nights and stayed one because of the condition of he house..my only wish is that people who had left reviews in the visitors back had written a review in stayz..I have taken photos to substantiate my review for anyone wanting to view them..

Accomodation amongst the trees
Property was very clean and inviting. Lovely rustic feel. Beautiful views from the two balconies. The neighbours had chickens which were very friendly and a real hit with the children! A quiet, relaxing stay.

A break with a difference
Everything was fine then the flood and power outage hit for the last two weeks of a 7 week stay. I had to evacuate the property in a tricky situation, leaving most of my things behind. The owner was excellent with her updates and communication.

just awesome
Can't talk this place up enough, it is a beautiful retreat by the river with a splendid view of both river and the hills. the little touches are all very special, wine, candles, coffee machine, milk frother, bbqs on the verandah, but it is also very homey and has so much character. we will be coming back. there is limited reception and no wifi - but you know what? don't bring your phone, it is really the perfect place to switch off!! did we mention dog friendly? be aware there are steep stairs to get up to the property, which was not an issue for us and again just added to the house on the hill experience. host is receptive and friendly.

Lovely quiet relaxing stay
Lovely little home away from home, to have a quiet relaxing weekend. We loved the location and curling up in front of the fire to read books. The hosts were fantastic to communicate with and really appreciated the extra messages, bottle of wine and kitchen supplies. Felt like we were staying at a friends place!

Quiet getaway
Cute country getaway. Enjoyed disconnecting from our phones and taking in the view. The property could have been a little cleaner but overall enjoyed our stay and would return.

Amazing secluded spot at Wisemans Ferry with all the comforts you need!
We loved staying Michelle and Shaun's wonderful property. From the beginning they were easy to communicate with and kept us informed when flooding around the area meant nearby roads and the car ferry were not in operation. Luckily it all worked out and we enjoyed the blissful stay - there was everything we needed for cooking, lots of nice amenities like coffee, tea, and even a bottle of wine, and plenty of entertainment (CDs, DVDs, board games so you'll never get bored!). Thanks again for such a wonderful stay, we'd definitely recommend it and would come back in a heartbeat!

Quiet Getaway
Lovely shack nested in the middle of the hills, close to Wisemans ferry region. Beautiful views and good walks around. Good place to get away from the city life and chill.

Quiet and cosy
We had a lovely stay at the Little House. Enjoyed the area with it’s history, walks and creatures. As it rained a lot we had a cosy time reading, playing games and watching tv. Michelle and Shaun are lovely and comms were prompt and easy.

Excellent get away spot!
Beautiful home nestled amongst the mountains with a huge deck to relax on. Plenty to games books puzzles etc and so peaceful. Michelle and Shaun were very accomdating and communication was fantastic. Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely home. We had such a great time away.

A Relaxing Place for a Weekend Wind Down
Shaun and Michelle's place provides a lovely, relaxing haven for anyone wanting time away from the rat race. Not only did we put down our devices, we felt compelled to. We spent our time out on the deck being submersed in nature and the bird life and even doing a puzzle. Shaun and Michelle were exceptional communicators and more than happy to help at any time before, during and after the stay. Thank you Shaun and Michele for sharing your beautiful retreat with us.

Beautiful verandah views, simple comfortable accommodation
We loved the birds that visited and the beautiful views. A bit closer to neighbours than expected. It is on a private road with neighbours directly below the house. Very nice simple wood house with three different decks. Bed was a little hard and no blinds in master bedroom.

Amazing Escape
This lovely property was so cosy and welcoming, truly a home away from home. We loved waking up to birdsong and watching the sun set on the mountains from the spacious veranda. We will definitely be staying again!

A home away from home
Shaun and Michelle's place is beautiful! We needed to get away after a stressful few weeks and this place was perfect. Gorgeous views as you feel a million miles away from everything...even though we were only an hour from home. The house is much bigger than the photos suggest. It has absolutely everything you could need. We'd definitely love to return.

Peaceful and picturesque stay
My partner and I had a lovely stay here. The house is set up high and looks out over the gorgeous view of the National Park and to the right, the Hawkesbury River. Large outdoor balcony for afternoon G&Ts. We came here in winter so the well stocked fire place was a perfect addition. We had no reception or internet access but was a great excuse to switch off from the world, there is Foxtel and board games, so no limit on entertainment.

Peaceful getaway
My partner and I stayed here in late July. Access was super easy from wisemans ferry and the hosts were great with their communication and instructions for access to the house. The house is nice and secluded on the footsteps of the national park with great hiking around during the day. At night we enjoyed the warmth of the wood stove and some star gazing on the massive deck. We also enjoyed playing some retro board games before a good nights sleep on the big comfy bed (with electric blankets which was a nice touch). Overall a great place to getaway without driving too far. We loved how quiet it was at night and also waking up to the sounds of all the native birds. We would definitely stay again. Cheers!

What a beautiful, peaceful and inviting home. Accessing the property was a breeze, the owners were swift and friendly in their communication, and the location was gorgeous. My personal highlight was the enormous balcony that looks over the bush and the river and sings with the sound of the birds and the breeze. I would definitely book again!

Disappointing
When we arrived at the property we found that the access road is verging on 4 wheel drive only and that there is no driveway / vehicle access close to the house with all access via very steep stairs. The property had not been cleaned and was filthy. We contacted the owner who did come by the next day to do some tidying however the house requires an intensive clean to be suitable for paying visitors. We did receive a token refund however this did not make up for the terrible experience of walking into a filthy house - it is the first time at any Stayz / Home Away property that I have felt so unwelcome and considered leaving straight away. It is also the first time I have had to clean a bathroom when walking into a holiday rental. The positives are that the location is pretty and quiet. The fire was also great on the cold nights. If it had been clean and a curtain or screen was installed on the shower we would have had a much better experience.

relaxing weekend
The house is a good size and very quiet location. The views are amazing and its a short walk to the national park with walking trails. The only issue we had is that there was no reception or wifi at the property and we weren't aware of this. Had we been aware, we would have been able to plan better. Great communication with the owners. All in all, a good experience.

Lovely house on the Hawkesbury
We spent the weekend in this beautiful house, with a bush setting and views of the water. The house had everything we could have wanted. The surrounding location was great for bush walks and visits to the settlement of Wiseman's Ferry. Recommended for a relaxing stay away.

Incredibly peaceful!
We had a wonderful stay ! It’s truly hidden away in the bush land - we woke on Sunday to beautiful sunshine streaming in through the bedroom window and the sound of bellbirds. A truly relaxing adventure !
