“"very comfortable hotel in a great location"”

Suites Gran via was in a great location 5 min walk to the Cathedral, across the street from the bus taking you directly to the Alhambra (we walked the beautiful to the site ) and less than 10 min walk to the Albaican. Extrememly comfortable beds. Get the breakfast in the room it felt like such a luxury definitely worth the 9 euro!

“Great Base for Granada Discovery”

We arrived in Granada early in the morning after taking the overnight trenhotel from Barcelona. A bit sleepy we arrived at Suites 44 and were initially informed that we could store our bags but a room would not be ready until later in the day as the hotel was fully occupied. We expected we had arrived far too early and were happy to have a place to leave our bags. Just before departing the nice front desk manager gave us keys to a great two-bedroom suite overlooking Gran Via de Colon, the main street from the Estacion de Ferrocarriles and the city center. The hotel has a memorable lobby and nice decor. The suite had a living room with dinning table for four, a kitchen area with a tremendous amount of storage and enough supplies to but together a basic meal. There were two bedrooms, each with its cheerful color pattern and plenty of room. Televisions were located in each of the three rooms. There was one bathroom with a single vanity, high tech toilet, and walk-in shower. The view overlooking Grand Via was magical in the evening. Wifi was included and worked well (password from the front desk). We ordered the in-room breakfast option for two and had more than enough choices to reasonably feed our children and have some for the adults (we had some additional food and cereal we brought the night before). Suites 44 held out bags when we checked-out and were very helpful when we returned before departing for a late evening train.

Area recommendations
The highlight was the Alhambra. We spent part of our first day and most of the second day at the palace. You can access a portion of the palace grounds and a few buildings without a ticket which we did on our first afternoon to get a sense of the place and allow ourselves plenty of time to visit the ticketed sights. It is highly recommended to order your ticket online prior to your arrival. Even on a weekday in November, there was a line for day of ticket purchases formed at 8 AM. A ticket gives you a window of time to enter the palace grounds. The big detail is to check you entrance time to the Nazaries Palace. Miss it and you can be denied entrance. The ticket window is a 15 minutes walk from the ticket window entrance to Nazaries Palace. Suites 44 to Alhambra is manageable 30+ minute walk with 10-year old children (no stopping). As a note, you can retrieve your online purchased tickets by going to the automatic ticket machines (just make sure you are using the one with the right one as some are only for Genralife, night visits, and the Nazaries Palace + all access). In Granada, the Cathedral and Royal Chapel are both worth a visit (they are adjoining buildings but require two different entrance fees and have separate entrances- a bit confusing). San Nicolas Viewpoint in the evening is amazing and did not feel unsafe (as some guidebooks note). The Churros y Chocolat/Cafe in many cafes are not to be missed as a great morning or evening treat.

“Modern hotel in Granada close to transport plus a kitchen!”

This was a really good choice of hotel. We got a suite at the back - very quiet and comfortable. Small bedroom (only a full-size bed!), medium size bathroom with nice shower, living/dining room and kitchen. Bus stop is 50 yards down the street, with buses every 5 mins to Alhambra. Mini grocery stores 1-2 blocks away. You can ask for a kettle; dishes/cutlery provided. 5-10 minute walk to old Muslim town (Albayzin) with wonderful restaurants, and 5 minute walk to Cathedral, more restaurants and tourist bus, which was well worth it. Book Alhambra tickets on line a few days beforehand. Do the Nasrid Palace twice: once at night for photography and during the day for audio-guided tour. This was a wonderful experience. Buy a 15-ride pass on the bus system right away. It's 12 euros and costs another 10 euros to top it up. Much cheaper than individual tickets. Hotel staff were really pleasant and helpful and security was excellent. A room at the front would probably be noisy as it fronts on to the largest street in Granada - the Gran Via Colon. I would stay there again.

Area recommendations
Alhambra for exploring the palaces and the citadel; a perfect example of superb Muslim architecture. Albayzin for views and restaurants; definitely eat at Samarkanda - it was the best Lebanese food I have eaten in years.
Getting there
We went by train from Madrid. There is no fast-speed connection to Granada yet, so it took 4+ hours but was comfortable.
What to pack
The town was pretty casual. We wore jeans and a light jacket in the evening in early October.

“Brand new, modern, 5 min walk from beach”

The hotel is so new that the cab driver hadn't heard of it. It's clean, quiet, and rather modernistic in design. It's about 4 blocks to the beach and 6 blocks to the nearest subway stop. Friendly staff. You can buy a mid-sized breakfast buffet at a reasonable price.

“Excellent hotel in Granada”

The price was excellent (of course, this was off-season); loved the fact that it was very close to all of the places we wanted to visit (baths, shopping, stops for buses to get to Alhambra and old city); we rode a train into Granada and used mostly our feet and some public transportation to get around. I know they've a pick-up/drop-off parking spot to load/unload, but I think parking would be spotty for you if you're using a rental. I don't recall them having assigned parking or a garage. Also, remember that traffic entering straight onto Gran Via is restricted to buses/taxis/residents.

Must see
Remember to purchase your tickets for touring Alhambra before you get there (we always do), since tickets are limited to a specific quantity per day. Entrance tickets are somewhat inexpensive and you can take you time walking about; guided tours are a bit more, but the details that tour guides provide (available in a variety of languages) are very informative.
Dining
Walking distance - "La Tranquera" Artgentinian steak house. Delicious.

“Home away from home!”

We stayed there three nights during last week of April 2009. This hotel has the charm and cosy feeling that is unforgettable! It is tastefully and thoughtfully decorated inside and outside the rooms and beautifully furnished. The bathroom was intelligently laid out with ultra modern fixtures. It feels more like home than a hotel. The central three story attrium with glass walled elevator was a joy to ride. We felt very secure. The Wi-Fi is free and you don't need a login or password. The speed was excellent. There is also free intenet available on the computer in the basement and free coffee. Breakfast is served in the room and brought to you at the precise time requested. At Euros 9.10 per person it was a tremendous value ( freshly squeezed orange juice, pastries, breads, jams, yoghurt, fresh fruit and large pot of coffee). The living/sitting area in the suite has comfortable pull out sofa bed. The kitchenette is fully equipped withe dishes and silverware. In some respects, this hotel has the look and feel of Marriott's Residence Inn. Best thing was that the staff spoke good English and that is a lot for Spain!

Area recommendations
Gran Via is the major street in Granada where the Suites Gran Via is located. It is located opposite the 5-Star AC Santa Paula hotel. Walk to most places and the public transport is available at door steps. Taxi from the train station costs about 4.50 Euros.

“A lovely small and very classy hotel with a great location”

The very small staff was extremely personable and very helpful. The room was a very clean, comfortable and well-laid-out suite especially ideal for multi-night stays. The location was perfact: easy to find, close to sights by walking, close to transportation. We would return.

Area recommendations
We thought where we were was perfactly located to see the historical sights and dine at wonderful bars and restaurants. After we arrived, we parked the car in the public garage nearby, and did not have to retrieve it until we checked out.

“Wonderful”

Newly opened, fabulous and friendly staff, extremely clean and well presented apartments in great location. You could not want for much more....except a kettle and a toaster! Serviced apartments of this quality in Europe are hard to come by, however as they are new there are a few extra items they could include in the rooms to make effective use of the kitchen facilities. The historic building is beautifully renovated and a room with a view over Grand Via Colon is gorgeous, throw open the windows open a bottle of champagne and watch the world go by. P.S. Driving in Granada is an experience in itself so plan well or get a GPS
