The perfect UK getaway break.
Great customer service from the beginning of our stay, until the end. The room allocated to us was perfect for those staying with dogs (which we were) - On the ground floor, close to an exit allowing for easy outdoor access to the grounds and the loading and unloading of my vehicle. The location of the hotel itself is perfect for those wishing to visit The Cotswolds, and is hidden away amongst parklands making it great for those wishing to get away from citylife. Tip: Along the edge of the grounds is a path way leading to an elevated view of the stunning surroundings. Housekeeping had placed dog biscuits in the room, which I felt was a lovely touch. We were very grateful. The only negatives were that the carpet had not been vacuumed after the previous guest (a dog owner) had stayed - there was noticeable dog hair throughout the room - however, this was addressed the next day (at our request) by housekeeping. The WIFI signal was inaccessible during the first night of our stay. Had I been working remotely, it would have been impossible for me to complete my tasks; however this was rectified the following day.

Too expensive for the room and facilities. Very basic no frills at all. Stayed at No 131 the previous night and the room was beautiful with a bathroom the same size as the bedroom. It is incredible how they shared the same price point but were poles apart in terms of uniqueness, facilities and ambience.

Really good experience. We went for our fifth wedding anniversary to spend a long weekend visiting the Cotswolds area. I mentioned the reason to one of the waiters while I was ordering some food for our dinner and the next day we found a congratulations card left in the room. That was very kind and heart touching! Really, really a good team customer orientated.

It is a fine old building with character. Good sized rooms. bathroom had a bath and well supplied with accessories. Like the Nespresso machine. Helpful staff. Main negative is the lack of a lift. We were on the 4th floor and one of us has mobility issues. Breakfast was excellent but the evening meal could be better in terms of choice (steak was off the menu by the time we got there) and quality. Overall, would recommend considering but suggest evaluate the value

Quick stop on road trip…
Worth noting that as an older property there is no air conditioning in the rooms and no lift - however, overall a lovely hotel. Pretty grounds, good parking.

Having previously stayed at the hotel and not had a great experience I was impressed with the level of service this time. My room was clean and comfortable, quiet and the right temperature. I arrived late and had a delicious pizza from the bar menu that was served efficiently. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. There was an added touch of a bowl of fruit in the room and a card welcoming me back which was nice. Unfortunately I went to pick up the orange in the fruit bowl and it was mouldy which made me wonder how long the fruit had been hanging around for. Overall much improved but still with the odd disappointing touch.

Very enjoyable stay. Dog friendly too. Set in lovely grounds and peaceful and quiet area. Room was large and warm, with good facilities. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Food was good. We had just a one night stay but are considering coming back for a weekend break very soon.

Disappointing
I was staying for work and wanted a good night’s sleep beforehand. The room was extremely hot, like a sauna when I walked in from the corridor. I spoke to reception who said it would improve when they turned the heating off, this impact was minimal. I turned on the air con unit but little cold air came out and I suspect it wasn’t turned on at the main unit in January. The heat was stifling and made sleeping difficult. I was also in a room near to some sort of ventilation unit that made a constant loud rumbling/humming noise. Reception asked if the room was bit loud and I said yes actually it is, will this go on all night - apparently it would improve when the kitchen shut down for the night. Unfortunately I didn’t notice an impact. Reception also said that they don’t normally use these rooms but that they were fully booked so had had to. Later in the conversation I was told they were using them for ‘other reasons’. I had dinner in the restaurant, I was shown to a table and the offer of water was made. This never materialised. I ordered my food and had finished it by the time my drink arrived. The waitress was apologetic but this was just disappointing. Breakfast the next day was a similar story, offered coffee or tea and told food was self service. The pastry was nice, cooked breakfast average at best, dry hash browns, cheap flavourless sausages. A waitress asked if everything was ok for me and I asked for the coffee again, this arrived after I’d finished eating.

Shabby Hotel.
Average hotel.Grubby needs updating.windows need agood clean,inside and out,sticker marks on windows.Reception pooky.long walk to bedrooms.No lift.Timed heating.Not impressed .

This is a return stay for us.Friendly staff,very clean as before,food very good,but it would be better if staying for more than a week if the menu offered different choices.Overall excellent.

Efficient staff and good food. The room, (335) whilst clean is tired. Plenty of room but way to little hanging and storage space. Bathroom very clean.
