“The place to stay in GX”
We were very impressed with the refurbishment of the hotel. The staff were very effiecient and friendly although there was no porter to bring our bags to our room. A great place to stay in GX
“Great Hotel”
The hotel exceeded expectations. And the staff were very courteous and helpful.
“Nice hotel in country side”
Although its a clean hotel, needs more care. Suite promised was only a divided room. Discovered 2nd thermostat only on the 3rd day, hidden in corner near window. Breakfast room is not very inviting, although service is good and friendly. Herb garden outside is a wilderness, nice start, but no continuation. The whole hotel looks like it had a lot of good intentions, but did not follow through totally.
“Old-fashioned musty rooms”
I have previously stayed at this hotel several times for business and always been in one of the newer rooms, which are nice. However, this time, I was in one of the rooms which have not yet been refurbished. It was old and musty. I asked to be moved. However, the next room was similar. This part of the hotel is very dated and has turned me off staying there again.
“Don't stay here unless...”
At quite a lot of money per night I had a reasonable expectation of this hotel. The reviews looked good, the photographs on the Expedia website looked good. It showed a modern contemporary reception, nice looking bar & restaurant and modern bedrooms and then I checked in.... I walked for what seemed like days down lovely wide well decorated corridors and then onto the the "old & historic" part of the hotel. The corridors significantly smaller, not decorated for years, bad carpet etc etc. My room it seemed was trapped in the 80's. Cramped, out of date furniture, nasty carpet, no air con & red hot, saggy matress, a bath which emptied the inside of the pipes into my bath water. When I complained at reception the next day I was told that next time I stayed there I should ask for an "executive room", I'd rather sleep in a tent! If you do stay... then ensure you insist on a room in the new part of the hotel unless you have a desire to return to the 80's!
